Scanning for DPR
In the morning in the DO we spend up to 1.5 hours scanning all the packets for the DPR. We have been told that it is just so the managers have an accurate count.
Just wondering if the DPR drivers scan the packets again
and if they get any additional info we enter like the correct address.

Re: Scanning for DPR
How many of you spend 1.5 hours just scanning parcels, as this seems a total waste of resources?

Re: Scanning for DPR
Yes, we scan them when using the van loading guide. This tells us what zone to put them in along with the delivery order number and at the end of loading it also shows us any items we didn't scan ie miss-sorted to another DPR.

Re: Scanning for DPR
Isn't it a count for each DPR route?

Re: Scanning for DPR
As the MC has already scanned the parcels they should know the count already

Re: Scanning for DPR
If somebody else is then scanning them to the DPR routes it seems a waste of 15 hours you could be spending prepping walks etc?

Re: Scanning for DPR
As I said previously, it's needed for full tracking at every point - which is part of the service the customer is paying for after all. And just because the MC has scanned a packet there's no guarantee it's going to the correct DO.
