Question about putting duties in.
Say an office has 40 duties, all shared vans.
40 staff needed each day.
That goes down to 30 staff needed each day in DM26 (3 doing 4).
But then an office gets ‘gifted’ 4 new duties of DPR. Is that really being sold as 4 new duties being put in?

No because you'll need more than 30 to operate that model.

Take floats and reserves out of the equation, obviously they are needed. My point is, are the 4000 duties being added after we have already lost 1 in 4 duties?

The only reason they want you to email is to stop the truth getting out on social media that its been one big balls up and these 2 are to blame.

Workers say it's a standstill. The process should reinstate everything and possibly see duties put in. However after that it simply becomes a static process. Surpluses have been occuring but there's no vr for the foreseeable. Most TM1's remain constant.

All you need to do is confirm your office and the issues your having and we will respond and if necessary get a senior rep to visit your office to help resolve any unit.
It's issues *you're* having. You can't even get something basic like this correct?
I thought it might only be far right *cough cough* individuals who struggle with this.

They have to be or otherwise DM26 won't save the company £m's if they are going to employ more staff to do the work.

We've one extra duty in our office but 3 rurals have been permanently lapsed and the town duties have been put into pods but I assume the stats will show that we have one extra duty now, when in reality we need around 10 less staff than we did pre DM26.

Maybe somebody could answer why CWU Live was stopped before DM26 rolled out? :hmmmm :hmmmm :hmmmm

It was a good platform for informing people and answering questions. Now suddenly only emails are permitted...

I doubt there are many offices in the Country that didn't need a full revision before even thinking about changing the way we work. They had 2 years while in negotiations to get that done. Depots should have been given the opportunity to reorganise the walks themselves and then have the plan checked. We know our depots better than the computer model, unfortunately Royal Mail think that Posties are thick and only do the job because they don't have the capabilities to do anything else.
If we had been organising the walks Posties would have been far more on board with the changes, staff wouldn''t be losing rounds that they have done for years and people wouldn't be dead on their feet.
Apparently now we have to deliver what we have scanned into our route so if in a van share we have to make sure that we scan in the parcels on our loops rather than the parcels that are on our side of the round. If we deliver a parcel scanned in by somebody else then that will be a conduct issue.
Yet another way to reduce efficiency because now, if the shared van is driving around delivering parcels that didn't fit in the bag, both Posties need to to be in the Van and stay together, no dropping the walker to the 1st address to deliver and then walk to the van at the next delivery point.
There are so many small inefficiencies like this that lose a minute here a minute there that, with thousands of Posties, add to their costs.
Honestly I could save them a fortune just in minor tweaks.

No office should be in a position that requires individual members to email Martin or Tony. There is a local, area and divisional rep who should have intervened before it got to this point. The CWU has failed to say no go repeatedly despite knowing full well the criteria is not being adhered to. Those figures don't bode well either.

Once again the full time release mob have taken it upon themselves to decide they know better.
Individual members call out Tony and Martin personally all over social media, criticising and and at times abusing them for not putting out communications.
So that put out communications saying they are willing to listening to everyone's individual concerns and worries and the structure of the union's function gets brought into question by the very same people that have been posting memes about the top officials going missing.
It doesn't matter what they do, some people will always bring a negative stance on whatever approach they make even when being as transparent as they can.

You are correct in the negativity part. However, if they actually made things better for us for once, they'd probably get a bit less hate.

That part about scanning the parcels seems so f***ing insane it cannot be true although I wouldn't be surprised. Scan to core is already a giant waste of time, if a postie was part time for example that would mean the partner would have to wait for them to come in later and then scan and set up the walk. And if they did oversized together, they'd have to write on the parcels who scanned which ones?

Any idea why it's been decided the person scanning the parcel must deliver it? Possibly on "security" grounds should it go missing if that's a regular issue in your DO?

Somebody I know asked me yesterday why her usual postie was sat in the van whilst another postie delivered her parcel, I assume you've now given me the explanation!

What happens with afternoon DPR's do they now have to scan in their own parcels, I some who doubt it?

To cut down on FATIGUE was the initial buzzword and manageable workload . I find it rather odd that now there is no mention . Disastrous Mess 26 I believe we are in our 6th week in . Having that extra Saturday off is just not worth the longer hours we ars now expected to do to achieve it .As for my body and mental state I'd like to wake up one morning not having to deal with serious aches and pains, stiffness in my joints . WE ARE FAR FROM HAPPY .
