I think the managers just do as ordered by their managers these days, if they don't they'll probably just get moved on and replaced with a manager who will do as ordered.funkflex55 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2026, 22:06Reading through this thread and this comment about about the van not working in a market place really stands out.Shaugi wrote: ↑12 Sep 2026, 18:59Today was our first DM26 saturday.
Non drivers stayed in the office. A few rurals had their d2ds thrown in.
1 pod had their d2ds thrown in.
The rest still have the last 2 weeks worth of d2ds under the frame.
No mail was thrown in by the indoor staff.
We've been staying either shared or singleton, no rotating.
The shared are failing hard so we've gone back to an HCT for the high call rate duty then the low rate will do oversized for both and their own stuff.
Management have started to understand what we meant when we said a van won't work in the market place on market day as its closed off to all vehicles.
Today was 1C, tracked across 2 duties.....either 1 person doing the shared or 1 person doing the singleton.
Rurals were doing 1C + tracked over 2 rural duties.
It just shows the level of management in the offices, how s**t they are and how it's a theme that they don't listen to the staff. No management spoke to me prior to DM26 going live. I could have told them that the workload would be too much for what was planned, but no. Now the the workload is too much. f***ing idiots

Our office didn't know anything neither about dm26, then it was a yes vote... then boom the next week it was all over the walls, including increasing weekly hours of work.. despicable..tramssirhc wrote: ↑13 Sep 2026, 06:17The agreement is clear that everyone should be involved in the changes. Re: A few questions for posties already doing dm26.
Saturdays are a disaster in my office. Not one D2D prepped for Monday because the non drivers have to go out and clear up 5 days failed mail on a duty. Other non drivers are walking 2 full duties doing all tracked and 1st class. One non driver walked 14 miles on Saturday doing 2 walks of tracked/1st class.
So much for managing the exhaustion and workload eh Martin Walsh and Dave Ward.
The management are s**t and so are the CWU.
And we're stick in the middle of it all. Clueless, inept, lying management and an equally inept out of touch Union.
Sick levels will be through the roof in a months time. People are at breaking point, all because the R.M management ignored the 'fully staffed and clear office' agreement. And the union stood back and said 'we want nothing to do with it' Meanwhile their members are exhausted, stressed, depressed and broken.

When P&L came in, our town centre duties continued to operate solo with the pouch boxes while the other half outside the parking restrictions used the van. That continued up until the pandemic when packet volumes and broken boxes made it unworkable. There was an HCT in the office but it sat in the corner for about 15 years.Shaugi wrote: ↑12 Sep 2026, 18:59The shared are failing hard so we've gone back to an HCT for the high call rate duty then the low rate will do oversized for both and their own stuff.

Then when it becomes the inevitable shitshow, the company can point the finger at the CWU as it's their DM.

The pods that were HCT duties will operate 2 HCT and a van. The HCT will take the 2 high call rate duties(1 each), their oversize packets will go on DPR. The van will take their own low call rate duty + oversize and the other low call rate duty without its oversized (pushed onto DPR), then support the 2 HCT as needed. I'm in the van tomoz.
Following day I'll switch to HCT for high call rate on my duty, my van partner will do 2 low call rate and the singleton will switch to his other high call rate duty.

Does anyone in DM26 have a scheduled attendance contract and how do you continue to fulfill it with the new way of working?

Re: A few questions for posties already doing dm26.
Wow, This thread reads like a greatest hits of our office.
To be fair its not horrendous across the board but where there are problems theyre just bullying staff and fudging the jobs. Theyre also constantly saying "dont forget the incentive scheme" which seems to be a new catchphrase. The workload is brutal every day and some jobs just cannot be completed regardless of who is on them. So the new tactic is blaming staff of the day on not doing DM26 properly. They ask how you tackle the job. You explain. Then they say "ah, you should get the walker to do extra loops while you do the parcels". I still cannot get a proper explanation of how DM26 is officially supposed to be done. Whatever we do they just contradict our methods. Ive explained that x amount of mail needs to be delivered to x amount of addresses with x amount of parcels within a given timespan. So its irrelevant if one person does 500 calls and 50 parcels or 1000 calls and no parcels. Option one eases the parcel burden on the driver. Option 2 increases the heavy workload on one person and increases the parcel burden on the driver. Its just passing the workload around. When you factor in 1pm items they tell you to re arrange the loops so youre not wasting time. Great if you know the area but an even bigger time waster if you dont. Last week they told me to carry on with the heavy frame (all products) and the other guy do all the parcels. This increased my workload by about 30%. It didnt help the other guy doing the parcels as he didnt know where he was going and had to keep coming back to me with more loops. The pods are now spaced over such a wide area that we cannot even get through the t24 properly and no matter what tactic we use we get told we're doing it wrong. They wont explain what the correct procedure is though.

Why didn't they have kinda bull rings of frames, each bull ring being a pod?Crowseer wrote: ↑21 Sep 2026, 11:16Wow, This thread reads like a greatest hits of our office.

Many reasons for this. No1 being they just wanted it signed off. The office layout is the least of our problems. The pods have just been cobbled together like lapsing ie a certain amount of calls allocated to a specific walk. Youre just spinning the barrel of a gun. You may have a loop with 300 flats that get delivered to a concierge. You may have a loop in an affluent area where the drives are 200ft long. One can be done in 15 minutes. The other could take an hour. Theyll still say "all loops are the same". Theyre still in the mindset of 1 frame being a daily workload. With DM26 thats not the caseSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑21 Sep 2026, 11:42Why didn't they have kinda bull rings of frames, each bull ring being a pod?Crowseer wrote: ↑21 Sep 2026, 11:16Wow, This thread reads like a greatest hits of our office.

The agreement is 4 heavy, 4 light bags each. No more, no less. Genuine oversize gets done out of the van.Crowseer wrote: ↑21 Sep 2026, 11:49Many reasons for this. The agreement is clear that all existing arrangements remain as they are. If your SA starts before your duty ends then the duty time will be adjusted.
