People are starting to realise also that there is no such thing as an ‘easy’ Saturday under this new system.
I had a good laugh when I heard a WPC complain that the light days in Heavy & Light weren't easy :d'oh!

It's back to 2006 volumes, baby, just without any of the motivation anyone had back then to shift a mountain in three and a bit hours.
It certainly is. As I've pointed out repeatedly the agreement says 4 heavy, 4 light bags. Not the workload I'm being faced with.
Where have you seen it written, ‘4 heavy, 4 light bags’?
The CWU endorsed the workload criteria. It's in all the literature used for DM26 which the postal executive were fully aware of.

The 4 heavy and 4 light diagram came from Royal Mails 'Guide to DM26'.

They show a current duty with 6 bags, (they must exist somewhere?), then you take 1/3 of another duty, i.e. 2 bags. Due to the nature of duty A and duty B rotating being 'light' and heavy' each person will have 8 bags in total, 4 heavy and 4 light.

A shared van is supposed to do 8 heavy and 8 light between them.

DM26 only works if you have 2 shared van duties that currently take around 4 hours per pair to deliver and are loosely based around 6 bags per person.
Those 4 duties and 4 people doing 24 loops in total became 4 duties and 3 people doing 8 loops each, but 4 are heavy and 4 are light. Probably adding about an hour onto your 4 hour delivery.
The problem many units are facing is that going into DM26 they have duties that would take 5-6 hours to complete with 10-12 loops per person.
Oh okay. That’s in the RM cartoon guide. That’s not in the agreement.
I've not seen anything from the CWU to call it out as being inaccurate.
The Postal Executive are currently in disagreement with RM about how the changed DM26 the day after the agreement was voted in and sent out their cartoon version.
This is simply untrue. The literature for DM26 was already in the public domain before the vote.

Define an easy Saturday
For those of us cursed to remember, what we had before P&L: significantly earlier starts, significantly earlier finishes, significantly shorter attendance.

Yeah, it was a pain in the arse dragging yourself out of bed at 0530 on a Saturday as a part timer but it allowed everyone to get out the door for 8AM and be home by noon. Saturday was not a "normal working day".
The machine stops.

The CWU didn’t endorse the cartoon thing that RM immediately churned out after the vote and the thing that you are quoting.

You are incorrect. RM pumped out their version immediately after the vote result, with ridiculous timescales etc.

The CWU didn’t produce any of that guff and there is a disagreement right now because RM are not sticking to what was agreed.

Do people ever stop complaining on this platform? Get a life and stop worrying about this job. Start on your time, deliver what you can deliver within your hours and go home. If mail sits in frames for a year, who gives a flying bollocks? It’s not our problem!

A quarter of jobs are going. Start looking.

There’s a quarter right here on this site who hate the job and detest everything Royal Mail, I’d assume they will be first to volunteer

I think they’re doing time. Afraid of getting out.

Let's be crystal clear. The facts are the information was readily available. The CWU agreed that the distribution of the workload did not need specific instructions and would be agreed at the local level. At no stage has the CWU said 'no go' because of the workload distribution across a POD. There's a golden rule in negotiating that real trade unions understand - if it's not down it means nothing. The agreement says how the work is done is matter for local agreement.

The postal executive agreed a deal that left the delivery members completely exposed. Just like they have for decades.

It's not. The literature for DM26 was widely available by early April. The agreement says local solutions work best. It's no good the postal executive making futile gestures. They agreed the wording.

He is actually bang on
Everything at local level
To enable local mgmt to make up their own rules
For example 9 were made up in ours
Enabling more delivery points on rounds
Its a mess as well
And the grand plan for xmas coming is to
Put everyone back on 2 in a van
You couldnt make it up
