Re: DM26 - Attention of Martin Walsh
A total s**t show. Incredible that these people, allegedly on our side, gave up so much for a desperately poor way of working.
A 40hr new contract is now 37hr. Therefore, losing £2200 per year basic. Do Overtime you say, well, the great CWU agreed to flat rate OT. So even less than before. Oh, you get a 1.75% higher wage increase..... BUT WE HAVE LOST £2200 already!!! It makes no difference.
Scandolous that this Union has gotten away with what they have.
Oh, the business might go bust, says Mr Walsh. Seriously? You believe a multimillionaire would his millions for his business to fail?! What planet are you living on?
Let it go bust. Then the government would have to step in to takeover a once proud business.
Thank goodness I haven't many years to go. I left in 2011 because of the first s**t show. It has only gotten worse.
Shame on the CWU and the leaders who allowed this to go ahead.

Yes, and yes.pinstripe wrote: ↑04 Sep 2026, 07:34Was your office fully staffed before? Were you clearing every/most days before?Mickeybrowneyes wrote: ↑04 Sep 2026, 03:44To be fair my office has gone in and we aren't having issues, it's manageable in the timeframe and people are enjoying the new times of attendance and extra days off. Appreciate that's the case for many, but for balance to say it is everywhere isn't true.
Also some of the offices around the area have also gone in smoothly.
I suppose some places are just more suited to the new method than others due to various factors.
We go live in a couple of weeks, and we are screwed. Walks far too big, severely understaffed, letters not going out for days at a time. Luckily for us DM26 is going to make the walks even bigger. With the 50/50 workload, the heavy part will be the amount we can do now, the light part will be extra.
It seems as the clock is ticking maybe they are rushing through implementing in offices that are already failing.
However I can't speak for everywhere but I know of a couple of offices where union involvement before deploying has turned failing offices into offices that clear.
They are in a better place now.
My guess is the process is not moving quick enough for the business and they may be starting to push things through in troubled offices without the right resourcing in order to get all offices in before peak.

Yes, definitely.funkflex55 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2026, 07:51Thanks for the info. This is interesting because it really goes against what we're seeing in most offices. It seems to work better in offices that are mainly rural or smaller. The pods are what seems to be the shittest end of the s**t stick.Mickeybrowneyes wrote: ↑04 Sep 2026, 03:44To be fair my office has gone in and we aren't having issues, it's manageable in the timeframe and people are enjoying the new times of attendance and extra days off. Our office has been failing since 2015 and the park and loop and has never been addressed and here we are now with a catastrophe about to happen, the local union and the local bosses are to blame they were never strong enough to stand up to their bosses and say it wasnt working, personally id sack them all and get someone in who had some balls ,its great watching them now nearly in tears knowing they are going to get found out for fudging the figures for 10 years to stay off the naughty list ,this is comedy gold.Mickeybrowneyes wrote: ↑05 Sep 2026, 03:30Yes, and yes.pinstripe wrote: ↑04 Sep 2026, 07:34Was your office fully staffed before? If this platform is too real for you why not just hang around the CWU controlled ones where the comments get turned off?

If the job is as bad as people make out on here, why not just leave and get another one? That would be sensible.tramssirhc wrote: ↑05 Sep 2026, 06:40If this platform is too real for you why not just hang around the CWU controlled ones where the comments get turned off?
Pressure, pressure, pressure! There is no pressure! Any pressure is put on by yourselves. You are expected to work to your finish time and that’s it. If you choose to take on more as more work, that’s your fault. There’s not a thing they can do if you are working your hours and not a second more. People are just too afraid to stand up for themselves.

No, I work in an office where the majority of duties fail every day. Some duties don’t go out 2/3 times each week. Do I give a bollocks? No. Is it giving me more work to do? No. Am I expected to work a minute past my time? No. The exact same way you aren’t. If you are taking more and more work, that’s your problem and your choice because you can’t be forced to work a second past your time, whether you like it or not.GRS wrote: ↑04 Sep 2026, 20:27Do you work in a nice office with walks that are 3 hours long?
Have some respect for those who are struggling mentally & physically with the workload. Some offices have got 5+ hour walks and have substantial vacancies, it is in these offices where people are coming under severe stress & pressure to do more, more, more even though they can’t complete even 50% of their walk.
Bully for you that you can be so blase & just shrug off overwhelming pressure from management but at least have respect for those who are affected by a huge workload & toxic environment. You’re obviously a WUM!!

If you've been at RM over a decade &/or the wrong side of 55 it's not that easy to find a similarly paid job, particularly if you do weekly OT.Pfrizzy10 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2026, 07:26If the job is as bad as people make out on here, why not just leave and get another one? I'm alright jack eh? Your experience is a minority one. If workers are too afraid to stand up then it's because they see other workers looking after themselves. Collectivism is not individualismPfrizzy10 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2026, 07:26If the job is as bad as people make out on here, why not just leave and get another one? Hope someone can find his whole pitch he gave in order to get elected, literally everything he said was load of crap, not delivered on any of the major points he made,it’s disgusting how he’s sold out, that day in London a couple of years ago where all members were together is now a distant memory.
Shame on you Martin

Re: DM26 - Attention of Martin Walsh
Given we must now be around the 50% mark for offices introducing DM26 then MW needs to front up and tell us how it's really going.
Also what happened to the DM26 incentive scheme, where anymore details ever disclosed on how that was supposed to operate?
