Offices 'officially' in trouble?

Most of us in our DO use grey trays under the frames to sort parcels, the days of being able to fit parcels on top of the frame have long gone, particularly when everything seems to be too big to store on top of your frame anyway.

We have frames in our depot where 50 houses share about 10 slots, Under the frames are chockablock with d2ds not put in because there is no time. We move anything we deem too big based on what we already have into the Heavy and Large and the Manager goes through it all and brings it all back.

If that had been done there would have been half a chance of DM26 working, or atleast working in more offices than it will.

Actually, we were sold a kipper when they introduced DPR. They sold it as DPR would be taking all the parcels, that’s why making the walks longer would be totes fine, because you wouldn’t have the parcels.

That unravelled quickly as they started to set what DPR were taking and where previously LATs or excess tracked would have been taken out on overtime, they stopped that, they removed that flexibility so if you ran out of time to deliver stuff, there is no one to deliver it in the afternoon.

Resulting in the pressure being piled on to work miracles.

You were never supposed to still be delivering oodles of parcels. DPR were supposed to be doing that.

I think you are correct because to be surrounded by failure, failing walks, failing D2Ds and the rest, and to not even have DM26 in yet, and to be talking already about the further staff cuts you will make next year, is utter madness that only makes sense to capitalist owners who are set to bleed it and leave.

Think it was a regional rep that went round our office and all our local sub offices and said the same.

Then the measuring box was wheeled out and they obvs realised that that meant we were still giving a load of parcels to DPR (I mean, that IS what they were supposed to be doing), so the measuring boxes were disappeared and now it’s an argument to get DPR to take anything from Core.

In ours for the last month or so you come in and there's a York full of oversized by your frame with managers expecting you to take that on top of the mountain or packets and first class you'd have usually. They're simply getting left as there's not enough DPR drivers due to the awful working hours and volume they're given
