No i agree, I just wanted to know in the first place if there was template that we could be measured against, to say either thats too much or too little. Im definitely in the start and finish camp.

There has never been a set standard for parcels, every route is different ,amount of time to get there, parking, amount of time to walk up steps ,different length driveways,Tracey on the Toilet or in the shower, deaf Hilda not hearing the first knock, going to neighbours ,going down the long garden to the shed, amount of collections, post boxes, special deliveries, there is too many variables on each route,i've heard bosses saying 25 to 30 ,that is a load of rubbish it takes as long as it takes as long as you keep moving and most importantly you are safe and abide by the laws of the road ,do not let linos bully you ,their favourite saying is "Lewis can do it why not you" Lewis is 20 and speeds ,parks illegally ,leaves the van running .Ive been here for the last 30 years and ignore everything a lino says ,just remember he is a lino because he was a failed postie.

There has always been a resourcing standard.
There is a difference between a resourcing standard and a performance standard.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Ok thanks, so you think its based on nothing? So its exactly the same as we are doing now, only with three staff? I thought there must be more to it, with something you could actually measure your performance against.
The pod system will only work if it’s set out properly. The single person does 2/3 of two walks one side heavy and one light. The two people do theirs plus one third of the other two (heavy and light also)
Now in the agreement they all should get help from the 50/50 walks but that doesn’t always seem to be the case.
Also no two people work the same or at the same speed.
It’s going to cause tension to say the least.
Our pods are paired with a 50/50 rural, we very rarely get help, they are used to cover uncovered duties.
RM have had at least a year to plan what rurals do but, like non drivers on Saturdays, it just seems random what extra work, if any, they are given. Probably in our DO some will be doing loads of additional work, the ones who usually refuse to do anything extra and will just go off sick if asked to do extra still doing nothing extra!!

Again it all depends if your duties are ok to begin with. It’s expected that the 50/50 duties save about 45 minutes with heavy and light and the duty spans are now 30 minutes longer. We decided to make all the rurals 45 minutes longer and put it on the frames, this made the pod duties smaller. We will see how successful it is !

Speaking of that; it has been, and we have been told will continue to be for the immediate future, the case that non-drivers are sent out on Saturdays. Interestingly the express instruction on Saturday was to only do 1C and packets per DM26 spec, not to use it as an opportunity to clear anything that failed to go out previously unless otherwise agreed. I believe the intention there was to prevent any more T48 rollovers.

No idea who's prepped the D2D for next week. It's either the Sunday crew or agency. Option C: they aren't.

It seems that instead of using a fire engine to put out the blaze, it's now a fire extinguisher. The inferno continues regardless.

Something similar is planned in our usually well run office, hopefully the extra work will be put on the rurals frames, and not just left to be forgotten about on their existing frames.

Who would have thought that the rural duties wouldn't have time to help the others. The work was always going to be dragged out so they didn't do anymore than their own frame. Not just that, the pods not acting as a team, plenty of that already too. I do wonder just what has caused this kind of behavior amongst staff. I'm alright, f**k you!

We have duties in ours that will now have almost 2 hours extra delivery capacity due to going 50/50 plus longer days and they are screaming the place down about not having the time to do extra.
And why are these extra bits people are to take not being physically moved onto the respective frames?
People are likely to think that’s if it’s not ‘on’ their frame then it’s not part of their workload.
