Your best bet would be to order your uniform from the office tomorrow as they usually require confirmation from a manager. Your manager will have the phone number. Just order the full entitlement, shoes/boots (not sure if you can order both, but try), jacket, storm proof. waterproof leggings, summer and winter hats, shirts (long sleeve, short sleeves and polo shirts), trousers, shorts. The sizes are UK standard but if you are between sizes you might have a problem. The blue shirts are standard shirt size but the polo shirts are small, medium or large, the same with the jacket and the storm proof. If you have already been issued with some second hand stuff, ignore it and order the full amount. Hope you're still enjoying the job, it is brilliant during summer but don't forget to carry a water bottle, your manager might even have some of them (ours does, and he issues them as required during summer).

Oh and it usually takes the uniform about 2 weeks to come through in dribs and drabs.

Im as ive been told the term is a "floater" lol, so my l/m told me over the phone to do it myself as im out of my normal depo for the next few weeks, just the depo im in now their l/m kinda looks at me like a little scruff bag so just wanna blend in.

just called and because ive not completed more than 6 weeks just of yet they have only given me the very basic of shoes jacket 5 shirts 2 pants, but on monday next week i will be entitled to more??????? 3 days short for my full entitlement which is a little sad, and by the time this has arrived i would be past it

dont think im entitled to a storm jacket just yet i think thats after 3 or 6 months.

Cheers

by the time you get your full entitlement the new footwear will be available, these are currently on trial with schoolchildren and are known as heeleys, adam and alan are most impressed with the results and think this should save an additional 20,000 jobs.

For any ladies out there - the womens trouser sizes are ridiculous, I'm normally a size 12 (which sometimes can be too big and I have to get size 10) so when I ordered my uniform I ordered size 12 but when they came they were way too tight so I sent them back and ordered a size 14, again when they came they were still slighty too tight and would have become uncomfortable during the day, so my line manager amongst other people said try a mens trouser so again I ordered, these fitted me perfect around the waist but I think I looked like a sack of potatoes in them as the legs where massive, so I have now given up on RM trousers and bought my own because no way am I ordering a size 16

Uniforms

Post by Wiltshireboy »

Its all very well ringing up for new uniforms, but when they go through the whole rigmarole of taking your order, then at the end say"Could I have your manager`s authorisation please?" Drives you mental, if your dom either cant or wont give it. :arrrghhh

I don't think they are storm proof! The leggings are at best, "splash proof", after you've had 'em a while! Dribs and drabs: forget about these - you have to take the uniform home yourself - now THAT has to be done in "dribs and drabs", especially after a hard day's walk!

I got the new boots without the zip. They lasted 3 weeks, until the first time it rained, then they fell apart. I heard that there is a new uniform due in the autumn, there's a new storm proof coat (though based on the last few I've had we should report them to the Trade Description), a new fleece (red) a wooly hat with RM logo, new trousers with extra pockets and a new polo shirt with a pen holder, but no pocket. I'm going to wait a few months before ordering any just to make sure I get the new stuff instead of the leftovers of the guff we are issued with now. Not that I expect the quality to be any better, I mean, surely RM know that we do a lot of walking, therefore the boots should be decent quality and not the cheapest they can find.
Where exactly do RM source their uniforms? Arthur Daley's market stall or Del Boy's?

... er, Guantanamo bay? :chuckle I know that Bush and his cronies tried to minimise the existence of Guantanamo for long enough, but we know for sure, that it exists - unlike Del Boy or Arthur, which is why I thought Guantanamo was a more likely source - remember, check to make sure your 'new' uniform hasn't been already used....!
