Pre silly Dm 26 , our office is an awful place to be in. Arguements everywhere, back stabbing , gossiping , stress , also theres no structure or plan to the silly pods etc . Duties are too big , too many pkts , nobody can agree on nothing. Is this being brought in just to fail and cause a mass exodus ? Cannot believe any union would agree to this clusterf,,

The agreement if applied word for word can make your working lives better. However the members have to want that, they need to support the rep, the rep needs to be strong and you've got to be ready to fight the CWU leadership. Its all there for you but you've got to want it.

ODM was a complete turd but DM26 is the same turd but polished with a bit of glitter sprinkled on so the union have improved things from what they could have been.

I've been in briefing meetings recently regarding DM26 where people that openly didn't even bother voting either way have been totally losing their sh!t about the impending introduction in our unit. I don't know if they think that if they didn't vote then it wouldn't happen or something.

Royal Mail wanted two people to deliver two duties that had not been out for 2/3 days EVERY SINGLE DAY! You wouldn't have had a fixed duty because you would have been moving to a different set of duties the following day.It would have been even more relentless and brutal. On top of this there would have been another frame they wanted you to take from as well!
Ask posties who it was inflicted on! It was trialled and Royal Mail wanted it to proceed.

The Union to be fair have mitigated it to 4 loops of mail and 4 loops of tracked and 1st per person to make the workload more even.

Personally I think the new system is exhausting but don't kid yourself that Royal Mail had better plans. They didn't!

Ours has been pushed back two months we had a brief on Monday from the area and office manager telling us that we can have 5 duties we asked for 14 they agreed with what we were saying they also told us we were front of the line for a geo revision in the new year then it is called dm27 we told the new area manager we were told this 12 months ago it’s just lip service so we are sticking to our original decision of no cooperation his answer was that when it crashes it will be our fault our reply was give us the same starting point as the offices in our sector and we will get on board his reply was Royal Mail it’s on its knees financially so there you go minimum effort from the whole of our office.
