Re: Reserves/Floaters and DM26
I knew I could rely on you to say something sensible.
I agree, resign end of, total reset, start again with the only fair option which is seniority, yes I thought it was rubbish when I started years ago but having been displaced off several duties in my time by senior folk I'm eventually able to embrace the fact that when we have our resign I can now choose something that isn't s**t.

‘Where DOs agree to complete a full repick post deployment…’
Quote from the agreement.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’

If a whole office resign suits your office, let your rep know your thoughts.

A highly selective quote. You need to put that into the context of the whole wording. I suspect you don't want a resign.

Its there in black and white. Even Martin said it. Making it a reality, along with the rest of the agreement is the hard part.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑08 Aug 2026, 17:29I knew I could rely on you to say something sensible.

It’s there in the agreement as an option, NOT a must happen.tramssirhc wrote: ↑08 Aug 2026, 19:06A highly selective quote. You need to put that into the context of the whole wording. I suspect you don't want a resign.

Re: Reserves/Floaters and DM26
The actual wording:
Deployment / Selection of Duties Principles
Once DOs have voted on and selected their respective attendance pattern and built the structures relating to the DM26 design
principles, they will have the ability to:
1. Decide whether they wish to complete a temporary repick prior to deployment or
2.Wait until the formal reviews have been completed and undertake a permanent repick
3.If DOs opt to wait and undertake a permanent repick they will complete a temporary matching exercise in the
interim

Re: Reserves/Floaters and DM26
It’s written so that things are agreed at a local level rather than a dictat sent down from on high. As long as the brief of DM26/USO change is met, HOW an office achieves it is agreed locally because all offices are different.guardianangel wrote: ↑09 Aug 2026, 07:33Barnacle wrote: ↑08 Aug 2026, 19:13It’s there in the agreement as an option, NOT a must happen.tramssirhc wrote: ↑08 Aug 2026, 19:06A highly selective quote. All the agreement favours Royal Mail its all if's but's and maybes's ,which union official actually signed this sketchy agreement off .
Problems arise if you don’t have a rep or if the rep isn’t engaged in the process.

Re: Reserves/Floaters and DM26
OK, being a bit of a biff here, but what's the difference between a resign and a re-pick?

Re: Reserves/Floaters and DM26
I agree the agreement clearly states that a resign is mandatory, the only options you have as an office is if you do it before deployment or wait until after the review ( which I think is best because at the review a duty that is "easy" could be changed to something you would not have picked), also many of my colleagues are finding the increased workload a shock, you work as hard every day, no easy Tuesdays etc anymore, they are actively thinking of going part time or leaving, a lot of us are over 60 and looking to wind down towards retirement.)Neverwasadoor wrote: ↑08 Aug 2026, 21:54The actual wording:

It has deliberately not been written as mandatory in order to allow different offices to agree what they are doing locally.

The agreement clearly gives the instructions how DM26 is to be deployed in depots.
You are just desperate to stay on your own duty!
Everything is changing for everyone when it comes to DM26, nobody is immune to the changes.
Every duty is now in theory taking workload of another duty.
If you are a rural or firms you are now providing relief to other duties or having a set workload added to your duty every day. On a Saturday you will be doing more than just your duty so this again this changes the workload of the duty.
The same applies to if you are on a HCT.
If you were part of van share one of you may now be on your own. The other one may have been removed and find themselves with no duty partciulary if you are a non driver.
The two people as part a van share are also now taking workload of another duty in an area that they may not like.
This is a fundamental change to peoples duties and their normal workload. It means people are working on duties where the terms and conditions are different to when they are applied for the duty. This means that it is only right that there is a revision in every office and the agreement specifically outlines how this is to be done. Nowhere does it say you do not have to have a revision. It is written on the basis of instruction that applies to every depot in the country.

That does not state that a resign is mandatory. It gives options because every office is different.
I personally have zero fear of change and find the notion of being on the same walk longer than a year, brain dead boring so stop assuming that this is because I personally might lose my walk. I wouldn’t care.
