If you keep in mind my characterisation of DM26 as lapsing on steroids: at Christmas lapsed duties are manned by reserves who no longer have any holidays to cover, so shall it be again.
No-one will have time to deliver any letters on their own frame never mind a third of another, so of course someone will be on those duties if only to shift the Tracked.
