The pods already have their duty holders, 2 drivers and 1 non driver. There isn't going to be a resign you see.

The CWU are insistent that this is a fundamental change in the delivery method which is why the resign is triggered. Workers are reporting that there have been arguments put that resigns are not triggered because there is insufficient change. That's not what the agreement says. The agreement is clear - there is a resign. The CWU members decide when it is.

In the scenario you are reporting a full resign is more efficient. Placing so many contracts with no obligation to drive into the leave reserves puts the operation at risk.

They are smarter than that. They have been recruiting several new starters this past year, all of whom drive. So if a duty holder is on leave for a week, and its a driving duty, one of the new starters will cover it, leaving the non drivers out in the cold. And as i already mentioned, those non driving floaters have 30 years seniority, which in this case, is meaningless.

Whilst I understand your concerns, the agreement is designed to help and is signed by both parties. Speak to your branch.

There does not HAVE to be a post deployment repick. The agreement states that you can agree whether to have one or not.

That decision will be office dependent. Your staffing, your current duty holders within the groupings etc.

With the pod system there must be VR's coming up ,they are losing a quarter of the workforce all be it some people will be deployed in other offices and non covered duties but that will not account for all. When will these VR's be available im sure they will have no problem getting them ,i think it would be a great idea to offer it to the over 55's long servers then in 3 months time they can take on a new batch of 20 year olds on the money saving new contracts ,it makes business sense.

They intend to place staff back on the lapsed walk in each pod group for PEAK.

So if they were to offer VR it would not be before 2027

we have a few saying they want it now, never knew it was a choice for when?
so who gets to decide when a repick happens?
our com and rep have already decided for us it will be next year at the earliest and just wing it until then,

You can have a quick repick of vacant walks before deployment. If you don’t have many vacant walks then a repick is unnecessary.

After deployment, people will continue to leave and vacate walks, or setting up the groupings may create vacant walks. So a repick could be had, but if most walks are changed you could have a whole office resign.

It is the unit rep and the lead com who decide this based on what is happening in your office.

cheers, personally it's better to get the system working if at all possible, but doomed if multiple swaps in duties before it starts

This isn't what the agreement says. The agreement is clear, there is a repick. The timing of when that happens is matter for the CWU members. Workers are reporting that arguements are being put that there is not sufficient change to trigger the repick process. The CWU nationally says that this is a delivery method change and that is sufficient change to trigger the process.

No, read the agreement again: it states that ‘if it is agreed to have a resign’ and then details the process.

It is not a given that you have one. Each office is different
