So with this DM 26 crap now in at a lot of offices How many of you out there are seriously considering leaving
I'm 35 years in this job and I can honestly say I've never seen out like it in my life

As long as I have a finish time and get paid, which I do, I couldn’t give a bollocks about DM26. It makes no difference to me and won’t force me out.

We had one retire last week and another 2 have put in their notice. 90+ years experience walking out the door.

I think if you can keep a reasonable finish time and get one of the better shift patterns the job won't be too bad.
The difference in workload is going to be the biggest driver in people leaving I think.

We’ve had loads leave as they applied for what they thought was parcels and didnt realise how much walking they’d be doing, all youngsters by the way

DM26 is just a symptom of the ongoing decline - we’ve lost over 300 years of experience across the last 12-18 months, and we’re not a big office. I expect the trend to continue but it won’t (entirely) be down to the ongoing changes.

It’s also a big reason why failure is an inevitability in our office; presently, the office is being held together by the pride of a minority of very experienced staff. When they join the exodus, I imagine we’ll see what true calamity looks like.

In terms of leaving, certainly I shall leave, but still I retain a perverse interest in watching it all fall down - I can see the village collapsing into the sea, and a part of me can’t help but stare. It’s funny how much everything has changed.

Our office has been on the new system a few weeks now , sadly morale is at an all time low , sickness is high and the older workers are struggling with the workload ,no matter what royal mail say ive done 21 years every change is start later, finish later and more on you , this company will eventually be like Evri once the lifers go people coming and going very sad but at least i had some good years before this DM26 tripe

It's in at my office and it's not working,the 3 to cover 4 dutys is the main problem that and sick,the pods have WAY to much work now it's designed to fail to split letters from parcels I think.

The way we look at it in my office is, it was a s**t show before DM26, it is still a s**t show doing DM26. The only difference is we have a better shift pattern doing DM26.

DM26 hasn't come in at our office yet.... but it sounds like nothing compared to 3 or so years ago when they removed duties and added 100+ extra calls to a lot of duties....a year after that change those 100+ extra calls ended up being taken back and duties were reinstated as it was a mess.

Aren't days becoming longer with DM26, so even if the workload is increased we have plenty more time to complete it. Personally, I am not keen on longer days just to get a couple extra days off over 5 weeks.

Royal Mail gets more profit as 3 posties clear 4 duties.

It's about 45 mins avg extra time give or take with way to much work we start later than before as well.

I was there 40 years and never a week went by when people said they've had enough and were leaving . I say if 0.001 % leave id be amazed .
