There is 3 in a pod 2 van share and one singleton usually a hct,the singleton preps two frames to core route and other two(staff)one preps the other two frames to core route the other sorts. - Whoever preps the duty on the morning scans the core route for their duty other one sorts.
How if one is PT?

Van share created the same issue. I know one bloke who used to be my rotation man. Took 10 years to get a walk.
I was a reserve for 13 years. Not that they still don't move me from time to time.

If I'm scanning a passport to my core route I want to be delivering it. I thought the whole idea of scanning your work to your PDA was accountability
To a point, but if you mis deliver something or comes up on your PDA login.

The planner puts full-time in on the right duties everything is covered so to speak.

Sounds ideal, but in reality there are going to be pods with 3 x part time staff on them, and others with 3 x full time staff on them. No prizes for guessing which duties will have a tougher time of it.

It doesn't work like that everything is covered you won't have 3 part time staff together duty holders of old get moved, seniority is still there but if the duty doesn't fit your hours you have to pick something else it's like a watered down seniority.

Of course it doesn't work like that that, but in reality that's how it ends up. There is no such thing as full time or part time duties anymore in many offices - part time staff cover every single duty in ours, and often none of it is sorted by the time they start, whilst the single or shared van duties staffed with full time members are on their delivery. It's just one of the many, many reasons DM26 will collapse.
A 'pod' is supposed to have 1 part time member (driver), and 2 full time members, with no more than 1 non-driver, plus a driving full time reserve to cover days off. That's not happening.

When the planner is finished his planning there will a set list of which duties are full time and which are part time, with all the indoor and outdoor work factored in, The Com will then know how many part time staff can be made up to full time. In ours the day off covers are full time duties going forward where they were part time in the past.

The scannable items are scanned by the person delivering them. You can scan them for someone else by saving your walk to the cloud and logging out of scan to core then scan the barcode for the next walk into the scan to core and scan and save to the cloud. When the second postie is ready to commence the final prep and band up they scan the scan the code for their walk and all the previously scanned parcels appear (a warning will pop up saying that there is a "live" scan to core session active and will even give the name of the person who did the initial scan. As long as the scan to core has not been finalised they can add or remove anything else before they submit the entire list to the cloud (this is the point that you get asked for estimated first deliver time). When you download your route for the delivery all the items then reappear in walk order with any unmatched items at he bottom with any from other walks( extra loops etc.) in blue

Easy the two ft prep the four duties as explained above and management find someone else to do IPS.

or do you both stay together and clear the parcels in the van
Absolutely verboten... except for the days when there's far too many Tracked for one person to do in a duty span.

I haven't heard anything definitive about whether items out of the locker must be scanned to route. Passports (and other Tracked and Internationals) get a ready for delivery scan before being handed out, and SDs already get allocated to duties for chain of custody.
The machine stops.

If it's a DO in a town, why not get send a van out (maybe 2) to do all the specials?

It would take about 6 hours, maybe more to do all the later specials in our office and we aren't exactly in the middle of nowhere.
