Re: DM 26 questions
Under DM26, explain to me how the driver will be finishing their loop of everything (heavy) first whilst the passenger only has their light (1c)? I think you're the idiot because you clearly don't understand the workings of DM26!qwerty2 wrote: ↑Today, 19:30Idiot - bet you’re a new starter! - I’m a non driver and the driver always finishes their loops before me and off doing big parcelsraXor wrote: ↑Today, 19:18Because of the added responsibility of operating a vehicle whilst being accompanied by a passenger who in today's RM environment is often lazy. Re: DM 26 questions
We have DPR so in theory the loops are supposed to be equal. Yes the drivers are doing more work as they are driving whilst the passenger is passengering. There is also more thought driving around do parcels and 1st class etc. If the non driver is doing loops whilst the driver goes off. There is also more risk to being the driver. Not that I'm complaining but the roles aren't equal.

You don’t understand - both will be doing the heavy then light loops at the same timeraXor wrote: ↑Today, 19:35Under DM26, explain to me how the driver will be finishing their loop of everything (heavy) first whilst the passenger only has their light (1c)? Re: DM 26 questions
Yes, it's clear that some of the responses here are clearly from non-drivers who are trying to justify their position. Many haven't even been the driver so have no knowledge or experience. The idiot who replied to me and called me a 'new starter' is an example. He clearly doesn't realise that many duties have approximately the same DPs on BOTH sides, driver and passenger, and they can both take about the same time to complete. He also has no idea about the heavy/light operational process each day, because if he did, he'd know that it's not possible for the driver to finish their loop first on their heavy day whilst it's the passenger light day, i.e. only 1st class.funkflex55 wrote: ↑Today, 19:37We have DPR so in theory the loops are supposed to be equal. Re: DM 26 questions
Gentlemen please keep your emotions to yourselves
If I had the choice I'd rather not drive because there is so much being thrown at drivers with Trimble, dash cams and vans that record everything from speeding to hash braking and cornering. Managers have access to this data now as well as drink and drug testing so ultimately the person behind the wheel carries quite a bit of responsibility.
You have a legitimate reason as a driver to take your time, drive safely and get the priority stuff out the way with your non-driver first. Mail can be delivered tomorrow but you can't undo an accident.

Re: DM 26 questions
You've been doing DM26 for 27 years? lol. I don't think you're understanding the point here. We're talking about DM26 here.... NOT what has happened in the past. Under DM26, one walk has ALL mail (heavy), the other walk has only 1st class (light). If you think you know better, explain here exactly what you know about the heavy/light model (High Call Rate all products and Low Call Rate 1c) under DM26.qwerty2 wrote: ↑Today, 19:52Christ you’re talking bull - I’ve been doing this 27 years - you haven’t a clue - the driver doesn’t do a heavy loop and passenger does a light loop at the sane timeraXor wrote: ↑Today, 19:46Yes, it's clear that some of the responses here are clearly from non-drivers who are trying to justify their position. Both do the loops together on the heavy side then the loops together on the light side - then 2 heavy and 2 light on the singleton duty!raXor wrote: ↑Today, 20:38You've been doing DM26 for 27 years? lol. Re: DM 26 questions
Say the driver's walk has full mail and the passenger's is light.
Say Solo man's walk has full mail and the vacant walk has light.
Let's presume each walk has 8 loops (I know some offices have 6, the principle still applies).
The driver will do 4 loops from his own walk. The passenger will do 4 loops from the driver's walk. That's 4 heavy each that they will do at the same time as each other.
Then the'll move to the passenger's walk. The driver will do 4 light loops and so will the passenger.
Now they will move to Solo man's walk and do a loop each (both heavy)
Then they will move to the vacant walk and do a loop each (both light).
That is 5 heavy and 5 light each.
Meanwhile solo man does 6 heavy from his walk and 6 light from the other (obviously these loops will need to be a bit smaller than the others to balance up... or a rural will come riding to the rescue and take a heavy and a light from him).

That's not what has been happening though. It's by walk, not loops.qwerty2 wrote: ↑Today, 21:02Both do the loops together on the heavy side then the loops together on the light side - then 2 heavy and 2 light on the singleton duty!raXor wrote: ↑Today, 20:38You've been doing DM26 for 27 years? lol.
