Not confident at all, we’ve got a few off sick for starters, what happens then? We are supposed to be starting this nonsense shortly, it gets pushed back, then it doesn’t etc. No one knows what’s going off, who is doing what..chaos.

We are supposed to be having a repick in September but it will not be implemented until the new year.
Given we have not had a proper full repick since 2010 and we have been promised them before, i am
not convinced it will happen.
Its largely irrelevant to me, though i think it will be quietly forgotten by January, especially with the expected
turnover of staff in those months.

The irony of the union using the term "fully staffed" when USO reforms are designed to reduce staffing so that there isn't a bum on every seat. And Pre-deployment checks make it sound like some sort of military exercise.

What will likely happen when we implement DM26 is that the managers will start throwing resources at it and start offering more overtime to make it work to get everything signed off. And then it will be back to cost cutting. There is more chance of Santa Claus turning up to do IPS than a re-pick in our office.

Moved to a different walk, to see how it goes, then re-pick.
Rumour has it that if we don`t clear on the Saturday before DM26 implementation, (no overtime remember) people will be drafted in from other offices to do it. So, hang on, people will come onto a walk they`ve never seen before, and not be paid? Yeah, right. Why not just pay overtime to the walk holder, who will do it 10 times quicker?

What does fully staffed even mean, people quit every 2 weeks at ours, impossible to stay fully staffed for more than 2 weeks.


How do re-picks work...

Surely they need to make sure everyone gets a sheet with the full list of every job and whether the job is a van-share, singleton (pod), or straight singleton, then we choose 5 duties in order of preference and they go through the sheets in seniority order. Probably giving the first 50% most senior posties the sheets first, then at a later date handing the sheets with 50% duties removed from it for the other half of the office to pick.

Probably giving the first 50% most senior posties the sheets first, then at a later date handing the sheets with 50% duties removed from it for the other half of the office to pick.

From what I've read on here the re-pick will take place after DM26 is up and running so you will know what that duty entails.

In reality they will probably forget all about the re-pick and the duties will run in whatever way digs the office out of the massive hole it finds itself in

Well we are down for 17 August dm26 our office has constantly been on the crap office list since the office revision nearly two years ago since they removed 12 walks and introduced last in the afternoon before that we cleared every day the last in the afternoon staff constantly fail so the work is been pushed back onto delivery the joke of this is the cost of this is unbelievable on top of that we keep having to employ agency staff somebody leaves most weeks anyway the powers that be are mulling over the idea of scrapping the lats in the afternoon and reverting the duties to how they were before the last revision the meeting has been going on for the last two weeks we are still waiting for their decision you couldn’t make it up.

You'll need to know the full time, part time make up. Some duties will require certain skills. It's not going to be solely seniority.
