Its about what the CWU do, no one else. The go/no go can only happen if the CWU agree. If it's not as per the agreement then the rep no goes it.

So the whole process is heavily dependant on the strength of the local rep? Oh dear, we're f***ed

I said months ago that some singleton posties in our office were voting YES for DM26 because the rep told them that they would stay on their own rounds. That means that those who are unfortunate to work as a pair would be forced to work in a pod. Bearing in mind that I picked this duty years ago I had hoped that there would be an office re-pick so I could pick another duty but instead certain posties with a lot less seniority have found themselves on these rounds instead.

Just reading the CWU's own update it says that units shouldn't deploy until they've completed the pre-deployment checks and received approval from the Regional Steering Group, so does that not mean that there is another level above the local rep? Before any sign off can't union members challenge anything?
The reps not in charge, the members are. This is your chance to get it right. Get organised. Use the agreement.

We have been promised a revision and re-pick and we haven't had one in years. Management believe that taking loops off the oversized duties and putting a few extra duties in will be the silver bullet to make everything work better.

Perhaps it will help but as for a re-pick I won't hold my breath. Without one, you get the same people on the singleton rounds that they have inherited, while others remain stuck on paired walks and are simply moved into pods. That's not giving the members the opportunity to "get it right" but carrying these inequalities into DM26.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Revisions are not part of DM26. The lapsed duties are likely to be reinstated but then 1 in 4 duties gets collapsed. The agreement is clear that a repick will happen and that all duties are part of the repick. Of course the members need to agree how the repick is organised and when.

Its worth noting that duties that cannot complete should be placed outside scope and converted into 50/50 non pod singletons.

The agreement states the members decide the timing of the repick and the repick is a listing of five duties. Seniority applies to all employees not solely cwu members. Seniority is a condition of service, a contractual matter.

So does the resign go as usual. Most senior picks his duty , ( i take it they cant pick 2 duties ie the one that teams up with there connected pairing . Lot of displaced seniors / non seniors are going to be unhappy.

How much has the duty content changed? Anyone whose duty content hasn't changed should be able to take it out of a re-pick.

No, because this is a total delivery method change. EVERYONES duty changes because of that when you take into account doing all items on one part and only 1C and tracked on different duties. Plus the 25% of people on shared vans who are made spare.

No, everybody's duty will change, van share are changed to share out four duties between three people basically do a third of another two duties, singletons pick up extra work.

Been told that I'll be part of a pod. Only problem is I know just 1 side of the current van share, and don't know any of the other 2 walks that make up duty 3 and 4. So only know 1 walk out of 4, DM starting in a few days and no time to train on the 3 walks I don't know. There's also other people being placed on duties they don't know. What the hell are they playing at?

From 8:36, the lady talks about the allocation of staff to duties. Then the 'possibility' of a resign if people aren't happy. This suggests that an a actual full resign is not a guaranteed thing.

The CWU agreed a resign because 1 in 4 duties are collapsed. There needs to be stability to make DM26 work. No resign, no stability.

The agreement does not say that it's a third of the other duties nor that the non-pod singletons pick up the extra work. If your rep is agreeing that then that's a no go. The agreement says it's 4 heavy/4 light. The duties must be clearing before DM26 and if they can't they go non-pod singleton. The focus of the non-pod singletons is to assist the office leaving before or on time. Assisting outdoors is secondary and if they do then the additional work should be agreed and taken on departure.

1 in 4 duties are collapsed displacing significant numbers of workers. For some the content change is their duty has gone. We're not in normal times. The CWU agreed resigns to create stability. Otherwise the supernumerary positions would be through the roof. I completely agree the criteria for a repick isnt reached but this isn't normal times.

Workers pick 5 duties in preference order 1 to 5.
