Now getting rid of an MP is a different kettle of fish, but it is possible. The only way we will get change is when the people get together en masse. I believe now is the time to stand up and be counted, not just sit by and complain. I personally think that the unions. are not doing their jobs, so i think now is the time for the grassroots to take back control. How?
At branch and local level the public sector unions need to organise, for instance in my area there must be 4,000+ public sector trade union members, if all the local union branches got together to form some effective organisation, then the potential number of votes at stake cannot be ignored by are MP. Now i know this sounds idealistic but in my eyes theirs only one thing stopping it happening-US!!!!
Now im no radical lefty, i just want a fairer country, a country where we have a fair tax system, a country where those taxes are spent properly on public services, extra police, transport and youth services etc not on illegal wars that are costing innocent lives, not to mention billions of £s, a country where after having worked and paid taxes all your life, you can rely on your pension, both private and state to provide you with some dignity in your retirement, a country where wages rise at the same rate as the cost of living, generally a country where our elected representatives care, listen and act in the best interests of the people they are their to represent!!! Jesus, in New Liebours eyes i would classed as radical left!!
As john lennon said "you may say im a dreamer but im not the only one"
WE are the union
