The issues that cost him I think in order of importance.

1. 10p Tax Row
2. No vote over EU Treaty/Constitution
3. Post Office Closures
4. Credit Squeeze.
5. Not being in touch (such as comments during all recent strikes).
6. Public Workers Pay policy.
7. His slow handling of the NR saga.

Can anyone else add to the list.
1.£5 billion Pension tax
2.Selling off Gold Reserve for £250per oz (currently at £1000 per oz)
3.Vehicle Excise Duty increase for gas guzzlers made retrograde
5.HIPS (Home Information Packs)
6.Inheritance Tax (level not raised in line with inflation)
7.Stamp Duty (level not raised in line with inflation)

I'm sure there are more but can't think of them at the moment.
Happily Retired.

From the Independent:

For PFI.
For the pressures on childhood, both at school and from commerce.
For the crap decisions - Dome, Olympics, etc.
For the War - WMD's? Pull the other one!
For doing nothing to fix an education system still geared up to produce compliant drones for business rather than thinking citizens.
For impinging on our civil liberties in an unacceptable fashion.
For (up until very recently) being unable to admit to mistakes.
For all the petty lying.
For the champagne socialism.
For presiding over widespread house-price credit fraud and destroying the hopes of a generation.
For an inability to deal with the extortionate cost of public transport.
For a lack of ANY real commitment to difficult decisions required to amerliorate the incoming effects of climate change and peak oil.
For being Bush's lapdog.
For a lack of will to implement a progressive taxation system with a basic 'non-avoidance' premise for taxation system.
For widening of gulf between weathly and the rest of us.
For the 'knee-jerk,' focus-group-driven politicking
For essentially turning into the Tories.

All reasons why this trade unionist will not vote Labour.

well they have an awful lot of failing but can anyone say the minimum wage was a bad idea.inflation busting pay increases for service men and nurses..
shame its been outweighed by the doubling of gp income for less and less work,no chance of finding an nhs dentist cos they arnt paid anything like they get from private patients.
tax tax and more tax
scraping married tax allowence and not replacing it with anything for a year.and its replacment leaving million including me owing back 1000's which get over paid this year underpaid next..have never been paid correctly.
well we could go on forever

in my opinion all the good things happend in the first 5 years then arogance and corruption creep in..just like the tories

so only solution give the two main parties(libs are just quackers)5 years each alternatly

GORDON WILL NOT LISTEN NOR LEARN AND SHOULD NOT LEAD US!

Post by k979aaa »

For if gordon brown has not heard the message of the electorate he need's his ear's and eye's opening!. For here is a politican who will not learn he is not wanted by us all just like adolf hitler or robert mugabe!. The only hope is that someone should have the courage and conviction to save us all from this madness!. Our fate of our nation is at stake as never before!. For all three were welcomed at first and swiftly refused election's soon after power!. Are we now to go as germany in 1933 or zimbabwe in the 1987!. NOW IS OUR TIME TO STOP THIS BEFORE WE CANNOT!.

unfortunately there is none, all these politicians feed from the same trough, the one supplied by the Capitalist System that puts profit/ competition before equality/ co-operation. we are told the Capitalist System is the only game in town, i think we can only expect more of the same whoever is in Government.

Vulcan wrote:At the moment they are 358 seats lost. Goodbye 'Bottler' Brown. It's no good saying 'lessons will be learned' & 'we have heard what people have said' and other platitudes that politicians mouth every time an election result is not what they wanted, that's the price you pay for ignoring the voters and pushing your own agenda.

Usual Labour voters are just protesting, this is Brown's chance to put things right, if he does not I think that he will definately lose the next general election. I am not surprise at all this as happened to Labour and I think the Labour MPs should speak up if they think Brown's policies are not right.

If Brownie is still in charge in 2010 its not a case of Labour might not win the General Election, it's a case of they will not win the General Election.

He is a muppet of the highest order. Crumbs, he even makes Blair look good!

labour have been shocking to us in the last few years but having worked under the tory goverment for many years we better batton down the hatches if they get elected in 2 years time,we are one of the few big unions left that stands up against heavy handed employers and the tories dont like unions
