Specials - management instructions
This may be an isolated issue by DO or more widespread, however we have what I see is a major issue in our DO.
Basically, if we bring back a special due to the recipient not being in, we get winged at by management. As far as they're concerned, we're supposed to be delivering all specials each day, regardless of whether the recipient answers. So, that means signing for and leaving specials in "safeplaces" including enclosed porches, unlocked sheds, garages, or behind bins if necessary.
This company is truly astonishing.

Yes ignore them ,specials should be moved to before 2 pm can be deadly if you got to skip areas on a rural to get them done .

Re: Specials - management instructions
I’d go further and make it guaranteed next day with no time limit-would totally take the pressure off doing them. I know they now provide such a service, but it should be that only, no time limit.Anyway, ignore the cnuts telling you this, one goes missing and you’re in the shite. Or, get it in writing from the manager that this is the new procedure- they won’t.SillyBilly wrote: ↑18 Jun 2026, 17:46Yes ignore them ,specials should be moved to before 2 pm can be deadly if you got to skip areas on a rural to get them done .

Re: Specials - management instructions
NO dont do that. Sometimes specials used go out 3 times on the trot which can be annoying but never leave in a safe place.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Either your manager has lost the plot or they don't have a clue what they are doing, as what happens when a customer reports the €500 Euro's wasn't in the porch etc when they got home? RM wouldn't have a leg to stand on when it came to defending the claim.raXor wrote: ↑18 Jun 2026, 16:52This may be an isolated issue by DO or more widespread, however we have what I see is a major issue in our DO.

Signing for Specials is one of the few things staff are still conducted for in our DO.

Bet this instruction is only verbal. Get one of them to put it in writing or on a text message. It won't happen.raXor wrote: ↑18 Jun 2026, 16:52This may be an isolated issue by DO or more widespread, however we have what I see is a major issue in our DO.

Re: Specials - management instructions
The SOP has not changed. Special deliveries cannot be delivered to neighbours or a safeplace. Neither option is available on the PDA. Unless there is a change in the SOP then you carry on adhering to it.raXor wrote: ↑18 Jun 2026, 16:52This may be an isolated issue by DO or more widespread, however we have what I see is a major issue in our DO.

Scan as inaccessible before 1pm and then re-scan them when I reach the customer’s door for years and nothing said.

Re: Specials - management instructions
I have known Specials to contain big amounts of cash & jewellery, never give them the chance to say they have not received it.

Re: Specials - management instructions
Specials need to be moved to 2pm at earliest cut off....
I don't know if there's some valid reason RM set it to 1pm.....but it's illogical from an efficiency standpoint as you may have to cut off what you are doing and drive off to deliver 1 item to someone who might not even be in.
Kretinsky, can you sort this out, bro.

Remove the time (we even have the version without the by 1pm already)norris9 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2026, 15:56Specials need to be moved to 2pm at earliest cut off....

It used to be by 12pm (iirc) and moved to 1pm because all deliveries used to be completed by 12:30pm.
Is the timed version a USO thing?
