where do part timers fit into this new way of working, in Manchester how do guys on part time contracts of 25,27.5,30 hour contracts fit in, I can't see how part timers could contribute to heavy days, just lights I would have thought

Aren’t the managers paid a bonus to manipulate (bully) the part timers out of the business? Only one person in my office still on a 25 hour contract, due to children at school, constantly being picked on while others are stood around doing nothing

Re: dm26
Part timers don't fit it now, never mind with the "new" way of working. Many part timers have had the overtime they were given in the morning to prep their frame drastically cut recently which is absurd given that a lot of them are working heavy town-based van share duties with D2Ds and triple mail coming out of their ears. On the other hand, we have people on full time hours (or some manager's specials on part time contracts who are getting some morning overtime) with less work and getting back from the duty 40 mins or more early, just in time for scones, coffee and chat with their cronies.

Re: dm26
Just so you know heavy and light isn't about heavy days and light days. More about heavy and light loops/bags. With each postie doing 4 bags of all products and 4 loops/bags of tracked and 1st class each day. Saturday you could say is lighter if 100 tracked, 30 1st class, 10 specials 4 customer collections and 3 boxes can be classed as light.postmanplod2026 wrote: ↑Today, 13:11where do part timers fit into this new way of working, in Manchester how do guys on part time contracts of 25,27.5,30 hour contracts fit in, I can't see how part timers could contribute to heavy days, just lights I would have thought

Re: dm26
Yesterday i had over 130 tracked, atleast 80 1st class and the usual boxes collections etc, the only saving grace was 2 specials neither of which was a Saturday 1pm plus one of the 2 rounds I covered is considered partailly rural.
Of the 2 rounds one of them will be getting in the region of 120 tracked from October onwards.
