Nobody is disputing that. Think it’s more to do with the pod word being used frequently by management to describe this new way of working.

The post is a critique of what pod working means. Members opposed team working and yet the CWU has agreed it.

There is the rub. DM26 doesn’t allow for any type of rigid everyone for themselves type of working. We have all sorts of bizarre arrangements where people effectively work on their own, have to do certain loops each day, finish an hour early, get a van each when there is no reason to etc etc.
Some of our shared vans don’t even speak to each other, others go their separate ways as soon as they leave the office.

Yes it's the royal mail way, most selfish place I've ever worked, when I first applied most of the interview questions related to being a team player and I remember having to give examples, at the do f**k me I soon discovered it's all for one and every man for himself

Sadly we have witnessed many pods get stranded and left helpless to die a slow death

Yeah, quite a few man-babies in my DO that sour the atmosphere for everyone else. On the rare occasion they don’t get their own way we all know about it,then the manager inevitably buckles & calm is restored. Hilarious really…

Wait till you start failing mail or someone going off sick, you'll get why you're in a pod now.

Pretty sure we have always worked in a team....

We have people sorting everyone's parcels, people sorting everyone's IPS frames, we work in van-shares.

Since when have we not been working as a team and why is this deemed new?

Yes, every missort is a blessing from my teammates.

As for van shares, I can tell you started after the abomination that is P&L. And I say that as someone who has an extremely good working relationship with my duty partner, so my opposition is not founded in personal grievance unlike the above.
