Overtime when 4 into 3 Starts

Post by matthew68 »

What’s the situation with over time when we start new way of working as our manager says they are stopping days off working when we go live in 4 weeks time, we have new staff and a couple of walks put back, with 3 in 4 means we have enough staff plus 2 spare! He says early ips will be cut as well as we will have more sorters. Trouble is a lot of staff rightly or wrongly rely on ot but he seems to think royal mail need to cut it down to less than half current ot across whole country, if they do this can see a lot of unrest and people potentially leaving, have union thought about people losing regular ot?

Union don’t care about OT….they can’t even enhance or maintain our t’s & C’s….overtime is least of their worries I’m afraid

Sad times 😢

Overtime costs jobs.
Is it better to employ more people or fewer people?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Full employment is union policy. CWU members endorsed DM26. No one can moan.

Can anybody seriously see DO's being fully staffed and that there's no need for any OT in the future?

Possibly OT won't be readily available as it is now but that's hardly a bad thing anyway.
