We get taxis to our first delivery point the Dom said we'll soon get fed up
and be using our own cars soon

Sounds like bliss to me, no waiting outside for an overcrowded bus full of screaming school kids. You are straight out to the walk. Only drawback is you may have to wait for the taxi but then you can claim docket.

You won't give in to those obviously effective Bully Boy tactics

Love to be on the vans but royal mail want the post delivering, not enough vans,

You say you catch the bus to your delivery who pays for that?

They provide free bus passes, but not to every postie - you can claim back, however most drivers let us on free anyway. It goes back a few years I think to when there was a local strike and we supported it. Solidarity has its benefits I guess.

We to were once on the buses free but the post office used to pay the bus company.
then they decided to stop paying them(save some money here) hence no free buses for the postmen

In october 07 a number of people including myself were informed that we must produce a bus/rail ticket to get paid.
Our crime was to refuse to use my car for one day in October. I haven't been allowed to use my car since. I don't mind this as I'm getting use to it and claiming a bit of Docket.

However there are a majority of people in my office who do not have to produce any tickets and are receiving fares as per normal.

A few of us have gone through the grievance process and the stage 2 was rejected. We are in the process of going to stage 3. The Dom has said that he could stop everyones fares if we continue as he has in other office's

If your office has a local agreement you might be able to stop it.
If it applys to the whole office then the grievance process wouldn't count.
People could stop using there cars. (They must be warned that Royal Mail might not them to use there cars for months)
If there was a large number of people waiting for vans to take them out and claiming O/T
I would only say that as an office you must stick as one otherwise you will be picked off or left in limbo.

If you pouch of you should claim for pouching of allowance its 75 pence per mile per day so if you finish 3 miles from office it works out around about £11 per week. It used to be called crows flight, there are numerous members in offices who get it but its not a well known allowance, many members were able to get it backdated to sdd which was quite a bit of cash. We are told, if you pouch off thats your delivery finished and so say if you are 3 miles away from you D.O and hence your car, you have to walk back. Oh yeah in your own time as well.
You are not entitled for a lift back, or to cut off for the 40 min walk back to your menas of getting home.Buses would be a two stage journey and probs about the same time.
This is the reason 90% of people in our office use their car, its just too much of a ball ache.

Don't pouch off then put pressure on the union rep and get him to disscuss a new agreement of no car's on delivery and ON THE VANS ONLY!.
