Re: RM welfare of staff !!!
The reason creams are not provided is that some people have allergies
Royal Mail also provide a water container you can order through the Uniform site

Some people have allergies - but a lot don’t !
In the 4 1/2 years I’ve been here as agency and contract, there’s not been 1 piece of information/advice given out for safety/dangers of working in the sun - even the sun protector on the new RM caps only come down to just below your ears so the back of your neck is exposed to the sun all day
But then again in that time we’ve never had a fire drill in our office - in fact I’ve never even heard the alarms tested

Lolol we have a “kitchen” that has pigeons flying freely, drinking out of the sink and even sitting in the microwave - I have pics of this - but “facilities manager” says it’s not a RM issue as they put curtains up at the doors - even though the pigeons are coming in through damaged air ventspostmanplod2026 wrote: ↑Yesterday, 21:10yous have a water container? dont have nothing not even a spare bag in my office
We have foxes roaming through the office at night and frequently have to clear up their dumps in the morning around the sorting areas / in the Yorks
We have 2 coffee vending machines for 450 staff that sometimes, despite being totally sold out, aren’t refilled fur 3-5 days
We have 1 cold drinks vending machine for 450 staff that was out of order for 20 months !!

Re: RM welfare of staff !!!
It comes down to one thing - the CWU. Other unions would not accept the working conditions that postal workers have to put up with. This is the trade unionism you get when the union is indistinguishable from the industry.Agencyoap wrote: ↑Yesterday, 19:41This is a generalisation but comparing National Companies ….

Re: RM welfare of staff !!!
i get your frustration with the union but this isn't their battle, it all comes down to the woke/sue them mentality, folk think they're doing right by some ginger haired kid latherining him with lotion, next there's an alergic reaction and said union gets suedtramssirhc wrote: ↑Yesterday, 21:58It comes down to one thing - the CWU. I have no wish to start an argument and I despise Kretinsky, Simon Thompson, Rickaay and all the other liars that have destroyed RM..... but they're not responsible for making sure staff are hydrated, protected from the sun etc.

I'd say everyone walking out until those issues are rectified would be 100% justifiable.Agencyoap wrote: ↑Yesterday, 21:27Lolol we have a “kitchen” that has pigeons flying freely, drinking out of the sink and even sitting in the microwave - I have pics of this - but “facilities manager” says it’s not a RM issue as they put curtains up at the doors - even though the pigeons are coming in through damaged air ventspostmanplod2026 wrote: ↑Yesterday, 21:10yous have a water container? dont have nothing not even a spare bag in my office

Employers absolutely are responsible for ensuring employees are safe. That's why they do a severe weather risk assessment. Health, safety and welfare is everyone's responsibility not just workers.Philbag70 wrote: ↑Today, 09:11I have no wish to start an argument and I despise Kretinsky, Simon Thompson, Rickaay and all the other liars that have destroyed RM..... but they're not responsible for making sure staff are hydrated, protected from the sun etc.
