The postal service has shared an update for customers following a change to its website
Royal Mail has issued an update to customers who use its parcel delivery services. The customer notice was shared in a social media video. Posting on Facebook, the postal service said it has introduced a new, revamped online experience.
Royal Mail said: "Sending parcels just got a whole lot easier! We’ve listened to your feedback and revamped our online postage experience. Now, when you buy postage online, you'll see our most popular options first to save you time. Plus, our brand new Postage Builder will recommend the best services for you."
Explaining the changes, a Royal Mail team member appeared in the video to share the updates with customers. She told viewers: "We've made it easier than ever to find and purchase the perfect postage option for your parcels.
"Next time you're sending something, you'll now see the most popular options first. So, if you're in a hurry, you're only a few clicks away from getting your parcel ready to send. Simply tell us the size and weight of your parcel, how quickly you need it to be delivered, and if you need any extras such as tracking, guaranteed delivery, a photo on delivery, or a signature.
"We will then recommend the best postage services for you to choose from. Click on the postage option you want, and add a few extra details before adding to your basket. Easy."
In more Royal Mail news, the postal service recently unveiled new parcel postboxes. In a Facebook post shared in April, Royal Mail said: "We're excited to reveal our newest parcel postbox!
"The new solar-powered postbox is intended to make posting parcels even easier. These new postboxes allow you to send and return medium-sized, pre-labelled parcels - the largest items yet to be accepted through a postbox - as well as letters.
"The first of the new parcel postboxes is now live in Belfast, with further installations planned across the UK over the next six months in locations like Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow and Tyneside.
"Around 600 will be installed in convenient locations such as town centres, new housing developments, and outside our Delivery Offices."
Parcel Postboxes are designed for parcels too large for a regular postbox. However, Royal Mail says regular postboxes aren't just for letters. They can also be used for small postable parcels that fit through a letterbox.
