Pension confusion???

Post by macthejaffa »

I started at Royal Mail in 2007 and seem to remember I could go online and look at various options etc for my pension but since it was changed in the last few years I’ve not been able to access this info again. Trouble is, I’m not brilliant with these kind of things and am quite confused about what pension turned into what other pension and how I can access the details my original RM one that should be a nice little lump!
Many thanks of anyone can help with details, and sorry for being a bit thick with it all

If you joined the pension as soon as you joined RM, you would be in section C and have benefits with both RMSPS(up to 2012) and RMPP(2012-2024).
The RMSPS website does have a member portal, but it's not that great. There's just info on the RMPP site.

But from what you say, it sounds as if you might have been in the RMDCP with Scottish Widows? In which case you wouldn't have joined that until after April 2008.
If so, they will have sent you login details for their money4life website.

That scheme is about to start the process of being transferred to L&G.

If you paid into that for at least 5 years, you may have chosen to pay into the Cash Balance scheme(section F) instead, sometime after April 2018?

All schemes should have sent you annual paper statements.

I assume you're currently paying into the new RMCPP(2024+)?

There's lots of RM pensions out there and it can be confusing understanding what you have. So you may find the list of websites and resources useful – just click below. v
