So if this gets rammed through quickly, how do you think they're going to dig delivery out of a hole this Christmas when it falls on a Friday. Will it be like the bins? Will they have us in on Sunday?
The machine stops.

I've a feeling that we will be delivering on the 26th this year and it will be a normal Sunday for those who have to work Sunday, obviously hope I'm proved wrong

Mail Centre will vote it in as per usual.
How???especially when delivery outnumber mc staff by at least 3-1 prob even higher.
Delivery will be around 50/50 .

Mail centre will be all over it.

It's called the law of averages.

Every single time a vote has gone through it would have been a different result if those who said they were voting no actually voted.

Ofcom agreed in 2015 that whenever Boxing day falls on a Saturday it will automatically be a non service day and Royal Mail would not have to request this again :nana

An exception to Royal Mail’s universal service obligation
hereby direct as follows:
1. The day specified in paragraph 2 shall be treated as a public holiday for the
purposes of the definition of “public holiday” in DUSP condition 1, and pursuant to
DUSP condition 1.3.2(a) that day shall therefore constitute an exception to the
requirements imposed on Royal Mail under DUSP condition 1 in respect of the
delivery or collection of postal packets and the target routing times of services.
2. The day referred to in paragraph 1 above is the 26 December when this date
falls on a Saturday, beginning with 26 December 2015.

Why would the current RM want to request giving us an extra days holiday?

The OFCOM ruling is just saying that RM don't have to supply a service on the 26th not saying that it can't.

Again I hope I'm wrong but the 26/12 is still showing as a working day on the leave calendar

The only MC staff it affects are mech staff, as to what RM decide to do with the mech on Fridays. I doubt many MC will bother to vote, only unless they think it's tied into the pay deal.

If del vote 100% no then even if every person in mc voted yes it would'nt matter.if its voted in del only have themselves to moan at.
