Why not just do a revision so 2 people do 2 rounds of all mail and first class ? Having to travel to walk 3 and walk 4 is inefficient. Also it's harder to do first class and tracked as a singleton, pairs can do it quicker.
That's a better idea, make the duties artificially (if that's the correct word) too big so the assumption is you can't/aren't expected to complete them both and alternate between everything and parcels+1c that way you're not pissing about doing bits off two other duties, this would also work for singleton town duties that aren't particularly rural.
This idea should also be rolled out to the other singletons and rurals and forget that bollocks plan for them to come racing to the rescue like the shittest superhero imaginable.

It's really is that simple, I don't know why they are trying to over complicate it, enough work for 2 posties to do 1 walk all mail, 1 walk first class and tracked, and then rotate.
The fact rurals are going to help suggests not a balanced workload. Suggests duties that are going to fail on a consistent basis.
Where it isn't practical to send a rural to help someone deliver 10 miles away (for example) it appears that they might be tasked with helping INDOOR, to get people on the monster sized duties out the door in time to complete their very large duties.
Not going to lie , I don’t really care about the changes , I just want to know my start and finish times and what my duty structure will be before I vote on anything.

I think RM's idea is that it's not possible to revise all (or even a decent number) of offices in the time frame they want. So this is a make do and mend approach with revisions beginning next year.

But how can they put duties back in without a revision?
If its being left to each individual office, DOM, coach, planner and rep to implement the model rather than it being universal across the board, what exactly are we voting on NOW?
We have no idea what is going to be agreed for our individual office including how many walks are going back in, how long the duty spans will be, how many Saturdays we are going to get, how many PT will be made FT, how many will be surplus, what the non drivers are doing on Saturdays etc etc
We are essentially voting to agree with whatever comes without knowing what that is yet.
The whole thing stinks.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Well in some cases you could just bodge one in with a new singleton duty taking DPs from half a dozen or so existing walks.
Or if you have a set of 3 existing walks that needs to make a 'pod' of 4 you create a new duty. If you've picked walks that are all already too big, then in theory they should be manageable if 3 become 4.
I'm not saying either of the above methods are ideal, or even that sensible. Just that they're possible and there's nothing that RM love more than a bodge.
But in my office, our DOM has decided that the walks that should be put in don't need to be because of DM26. I think he's wrong, but I don't think he'll be an isolated instance.

I thought that too, talk about a divided office if you've got a few rurals, they'll actually be better off than before with this bollocks

This is a utopian vision which all us in delivery know will never come to fruition. It will fall at the first hurdle, our mail centre can’t even seg the parcels and quite frequently send all the mech not sequenced so the idea that they will send all the mail segregated in neat batches of first class mail and second class for only 50% of deliveries is honestly hilarious. But hey let’s pretend by some miracle that happens, I’m afraid yourself and Dave have been off delivery’s for so long that you really have no idea how much workload we do every day now. The delivery’s are quite frankly a ridiculous ask of a human being 5 days a week.
The time saved by leaving second class on one side of a van share quickly gets eaten up by doing double mail on the other side, it won’t mean we have time to do another 3rd of a delivery. It won’t work.
Our office routinely fails mail so I’m speaking from experience that once half a delivery has double mail then it becomes impossible to complete on time. You can spin it all you like but when you boil down to it you’re asking 3 people to cover the work of 4.
We can all see what’s coming, it will probably be a yes vote and when it’s a car crash the CWU and RM will say “well you voted for it” and the blame and bullying will resume on us in delivery’s once again to make it work.
I’ve tried to word my feelings as politely as I can because I know people who have a go at the union get labelled as “keyboard warriors” but the top of the CWU have no
Idea the amount of resentment that has built up towards them and RM management over the last few years. These changes will have staff at absolute breaking point as we are all overwhelmed and on edge already.
