Finished this week

Post by Jeppol »

I've just finished at RM this week after 37 years, I started receiving my nra60 pensions in February. I contacted Capita to inform them as I am now entitled to the supplement to be paid. Do I need to contact the RMPP as I cannot recall if there is any supplement to be paid with them? Also I presume I do not need to contact the new Collective plan and can just leave that till I'm 67.

You may have some Age60 supplement via the RMPP, so it's best to tell them just in case.
If so, it's likely to be a small amount!

Both RMPP and RMSPS should send your Age65 options automatically shortly before you turn 65, but if you want to take that early you need to contact the RMPP and they tell RMSPS on your behalf.

You only need to tell the RMCPP if you want to take those benefits before 67.

If you take it now, it will be reduced. If you leave it longer, it should grow.

Although as you've only been paying into it for about 19 months, it's not going to be worth a massive amount either way.

Section C members who've taken their pensions while still working for RM, will still be entitled to a supplement when they leave which is then paid until state pension age. So it's advisable they contact RMPP/RMSPS to ensure they get what they're due.

A/B members don't get a supplement, so if they've already taken all their benefits, that's it for them.
