He doesn't have any understanding of how the DTS works, once an item has hit the time limit it WILL get released. If there's a 2C item for a DP that is getting a 2C item released it WILL get released. If it's not released a day early on the Thursday for Friday delivery then it'll have to be released on the Friday for Saturday delivery otherwise it'll fail its spec.
I think then they'll have it so that it will be released a day early (ie for Friday delivery). It's very clear that the plan is to limit the amount of mail that is delivered on a Saturday so far as is possible.

From the last I heard the plan is to have it release a day early. Thursday nights are the busiest nights on the CSS machines as it is, it's when a fair bit of mail hits the time limit. I think they might end up having to push dispatch times back on a Thursday to allow extra time to sequence the mail. If we end up with some or all batches being 7000+ items released then chances are it's going to be an hour or maybe a little more to sequence each batch.
