It is plausible that the post was engineered by an external supporter to dominate the headlines—effectively swamping other Royal Mail news in a classic "any news is good news" political play.

On the flip side, one cannot rule out a genuine postal worker acting alone. If that is the case, it was a massive personal risk to take, especially since the "conscience clause" exists for anyone with sufficient justification to opt out of such deliveries through official channels.
