It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Ballot timetable
I often hear people complain about non delivery office staff getting a vote, but in reality Delivery Office staff far outnumber by 4 or 5 times the rest of employees.
There literally is nothing good about this method for delivery. Not a thing.
If people don't vote, then you're basically accepting it.

Re: Ballot timetable
It’s coming in anyway but if you have any respect for yourself and work mates/colleagues then you need to tell Ward and Walsh to do one and vote no on this cruel deal which will see three workers doing 4 jobs. Martin and Dave couldn’t half a delivery never mind this 3/4 nonsense just to line the pockets of Kretinsky.
Our vote will ultimately mean nothing in terms of the changes but a no vote will put pressure on the union higher ups which is long overdue.

Had area guy in our place today talking about the new way coming in, this vote is absolutely hollow, just like the union
I heard the frames are going to be made smaller, but not the duties. So the frames will be all doubleslotted

Re: Ballot timetable
if they are thick enough to do this its a disaster from the start, as there will be not enough room for all the packets ontoppostmanplod2026 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2026, 17:17that evil squeezing the frame double slots making it look smaller when its not

Re: Ballot timetable
We've been double slots on huge RM2000 frames for many years. Packets split between top of frame, trays under frame, york at side of frame when trays/top gets full. That's only the small/medium packets that fit in a delivery pouch. Large get nowhere near the frame due to space, they get scanned/sorted straight into van.

Yeah, I assume they'll speak about it in a Youtube Live at some point, but the sooner the better. It needs to all be explained this week surely.

Re: Ballot timetable
What's the logic in making the slots smaller (or two addresses in one slot) when half the duties will have to store (at least) 2 or 3 days worth of mail before it's bundled up to be delivered? The standard slots get rammed if you have 2 days of mail in there already, when they decide only the parcels are going out on a job and the non-priority mail gets rolled over. And the door to doors will sit there for longer, as they won't go out every day there is mail either.dazzler123 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2026, 17:11

Why does this job have to be made more difficult as time goes on, for no good reason?

Re: Ballot timetable
There is no logic to RM now. It will come in, be a disaster and left to us to make it work somehowgoneaway wrote: ↑27 Apr 2026, 17:57What's the logic in making the slots smaller (or two addresses in one slot) when half the duties will have to store (at least) 2 or 3 days worth of mail before it's bundled up to be delivered? Re: Ballot timetable
The simple reason that they make slots double is to save space. They've wanted to do it across the board for ages, this new way of working/change gives them an excuse. Do a lot of offices still have 1 duty, 1 frame with single slots?
