The CWU leadership has abandoned its members. The responsibility for making this work has been shoved down to the lowest possible level. Every day will be a debate about what you can do and whose going to do the work. Again the CWU say 1c when they know full well the workload will be whatever is due to be done that day. Walsh and the rest of the bag avoiders have never done what we have to do and they couldn't nor would they have accepted it.

Not one word about d2d's, collections, redeliveries, priority items, scanning.

Walsh and the rest of the idlers have told the meetings across the country this is the best they can do. In that case they need to go. Boot them out.

That's what I thought, it sounds sensible in that give the people that get to do less a bit more but meanwhile back in reality you're going to need s**t hot top of their game delivery office management with their fingers right on the pulse to implement it, what the f**k could possibly go wrong

Not only are they going to have to manage the daily nonsense but they are also going to have to put an end to the culture of failure being acceptable in delivery offices.
I am not saying there aren't any managers capable of implementing DM26 successfully, but I have yet to meet one.

Seriously. As if the gaffers didn't have enough to do. What's a floater supposed to do? You'll need to know the duties inside and out to work out what you can and can't do. Thats before the debate with the person whose protected their duty for the last 10 years and whose standard response is 'i cant do that, I haven't got time'.

Depends on the day. The workload will be whatever is due to be done on the day,

Let it sink in that DM26 is actually worse than the ODM.

There was at least structured failure with the ODM.

Now you'll have numerous people talking 1/2 of one frame, 2/3 of another with packets, people struggling but told to take it all out and the rural knight in shining armour will arrive to help*, maybe

*too busy with the traffic today boss, sorry.

Each office will have to work it out, which I'm sure some will relish, the few that are operating still in a land that time forgot of early finishes and decent staffing levels.

I think we have 5 rural/firm duties marked in pink and about 85 duties marked in blue and yellow. Them knights are going to be busy.

That's the reason managers get paid 40k plus bonuses. About time they started earning their pay.

If only there was the technology to show which walks are do-able and which are twice the size....
Which walks are scanning packets etc right up to their 'return to office' time and which PDA's stop moving/scanning hours before finish time....

Now, I'm not for a minute suggesting that this will fix all the issues, but when apparently every minute is a prisoner, current managers seem either unwilling or unable to allocate workloads to time equally.

Well here’s what I’ll do. I will take the lead from the laziest fooker in our office and I’ll take out no more than that person. Every day, no favours, no pushing me to the limit. Not many years left and I ain’t racing around like a fool after this disgraceful deal inevitably gets pushed through.

There's just going to be so many arguments, disputes, disagreements - 2 will side against one in some cases - I already know I'm coming off a walk because the 2 on the pair of walks we are supposed to merge with are a combination of lazy and duplicitous. Right now everything just about works. Here we go again ...
not long to retirement - hopefully can find something else before then
