The 30th is nearly here!
So with the 30/03 just around the corner and the end of the DRP and the beginning of a new dawn of cooperation and working together to solve the chaos of mail deliveries and prioritization pyramids I'm starting my bingo card entries now. Feel free to add your own.
A small amount of progress has been made
Several sticking points remain
Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed
The right deal for postal workers
Further extension.....
Expanding the role of postal workers
New era of trust
ODM light

We've got them to concede 3 people doing the work of 4 is too much, instead we've agreed to trial 6 doing the work of 8.....

Deal of the century.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: The 30th is nearly here!
While we all known the union is still vague about this and has failed to provide any examples for almost four years now, I'm not sure the company cares to elaborate either. Anything else we could possibly do on the streets would simply detract from delivering the goddamn Tracked, which already detract from delivering the letters and that's how they like it.
Additional revenue streams like making tea for the elderly, checking gas and electricity meters, providing a government-subsidised service to deliver pieces of paper (what a concept)... there is no time!
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

People who come in early are absolute clownsreddevils wrote: ↑Today, 18:38Whatever spin they put on it we are being given more workload and quality of service will decline even further which is now being authorised by Offcom.
The only fight royal mail workers have is not coming in early to prep door to doors/mail, do vehicle checks every day including the 20 mins on a Tuesday, and walking at a moderate pace. The union aren't going to protect us so all we have to protect ourself is royal mail policy itself.
Btw we have cameras installed on all vans at our depot. You are called up when you don't have your seatbelt on, speeding is recorded if 1mph over. Royal Mail disregard the UK law of not having to have your seatbelt on if you are going for less than 50 yards if a courier and conduct people for it in offices with the cameras and seatbelt sensors installed.
So dpr drivers seatbelt on every stop, remain to the speed limits. Productivity will decline further which I'm sure royal mail want. Its obvious parcel lockers and parcel shops are designed to reduce the workforce even further.
The workforce needs to look after its own interests.

Re: The 30th is nearly here!
Judging by Wards remarks on Tuesday at the select committee it seemed like there was basically no progress on equalisation but Walsh seemed giddy over progress being made on USO talks(selling us out on a slightly morphed version of ODM no doubt)
Seems unlikely there will be an overall agreement this week so my money would be on another two week extension although I wouldn’t rule out RM just going nuclear and using executive action now the little clown show before parliament is over.

Re: The 30th is nearly here!
RM don`t want an equalisation in pay and conditions. They only need to wait for the legacy contracts to shuffle out the door and hey presto! The current hand-wringing about the poor service plays into RM`s hands, they want us to fail so that they can go to OFCOM and get the changes they want. No such thing as "bad" publicity. They play the long game, and eventually will get what they want.
Consequently....
Don`t work for free.
Work to time.
Don`t kill yourselves. They don`t care about you.
Repeat.

ODM will come in. They will offer a revised, slightly improved package of VR. Alot of old contract posties will be happy to take it. The CWU will announce it as a massive win. Within 3 years all contracts will be levelled down not up as the majority of the workforce will be on them.
