Parcels/Packets per hour

Can anyone tell me how many tracked items you are expected to deliver per hour?
I have rural duties. One is probably 60% rural 40% housing estates. the other is 100% rural covering a pretty large area.
I burst a gut every day and am getting sick of the passive aggressive put downs from managers.
Had absolutely bugger all training other than being shown route, i only learn stuff through asking constant question of colleagues.
Can't even give me the proper tools for the job, eg a pda that works and a van not in limp mode

Been here 6 months and opportunity has just arisen to leave, think I'll be going.

Well if you're going, don't worry about it. But rural 10-15 tracked, town about 20 an hour. Speak to your union rep.

Well some days i'm clearing 120 tracked in 4-4.5hrs plus tons of letters.
Managers are living in cloud cuckoo land, and they think i'm underperforming.

It sounds like you're actually doing a duty rather than only delivering parcels where they might question your performance ?

So if that's the case how many tracked you do shouldn't really be an issue imo.

We've got some rural duties that might only get 20 trackeds but it takes 4 to 4.5 hours to deliver the duty, whereas some of the town duties will have for example 40 for an estate that takes about an hour to deliver that includes plenty of postable/easy safe place items so their average will be much higher.

Use Ron app for your parcels it gives you a time it should take you show the manager as this is a royal mail app. They made they app you can even enter your 1st letters. If they being a arse you be one back this is the goto in our office

Lack of training isn't unique to DOs, happens in MCs as well. You just get the "ass covering" stuff, then it's "Here's the work area, here's the work, get on with it".

Our DPR drivers where told 20 per-hour but that was soon reduced to 15 per-hour

RON allows around 3 mins for each parcel delivery, if you know the duty and are also delivering items which fit through a letterbox you're going to be far quicker. The only way to really know how long a duty takes is by seeing how long one of the DO's more competent postie takes.

It depends what you are doing.

Surely if there are any parcel per hour targets it should depend what areas you are delivering to.

DPR might be covering large parcels for 7 duties, therefore you're driving longer distances between each call.

Sometimes they get people to take out all parcels for 2 duties, which means it's obviously way quicker to deliver the parcels in that situation versus DPR.

There are some rounds which you can breeze round as you can park right outside people's houses, there's no vehicle traffic and no traffic lights + it's in a free flowing housing estate....

other rounds are a nightmare to park on that you have to walk a distance to deliver parcels.

We've got a few posties that are like that too, not necessarily failed but the ones that criticise others that are slower than they are.

Packets have been crazy for me this week, past three days I had four full sacks of em, my van share had three, insane ammount, plus the oversize on top of that! Just no time to get mail done, we reluctantly went over by and hour twice this week..Damn sick of them I am..
