We’ve been given no standard/metrics as to how we need to drive - OPG 42 years in with no previous now being told he’s high risk
There are only so many non driving jobs in the office so people may be sent to rurals
But again I stress we’re being given NO evidence or training and the union have just said “not a lot we can do as we don’t have access to the reports / data”

The cameras are being installed over the next 2 years. During the installation period the usefulness of them and the data collected will be assessed. In the final 6 months of the installation period a new agreement will be reached on their use between the union and RM. Until then all previous telemetry and in cab camera agreements stand.

In other words, deployment will not be complete for two years and until then the data gathered can only be used for coaching and not for misconduct or performance management.

Driving 50yards without a seatbelt is illegal unless you are a courier driver. We are not defined as couriers. Also, people are fastening their seatbelt into the slot and then not wearing it for their entire duty. That is breaking the law on multiple occasions.
It’s company policy to wear a seatbelt. So if someone has received a warning for not wearing their seatbelt, they deserved it.

Agree, it's against RM regs, so if you don't follow them then any consequences are on your shoulders. Annoys the f**k out of me when I find the seatbelt clicked in the slot the next morning.

I honestly don’t know why you are bothered? They can’t discipline you for ‘harsh cornering’. Stop looking at My Performance. It is irrelevant.

If you have a rep go and see them and get them to tell management that any driving tips they have can only be delivered in a positive coaching manner.

If your rep doesn’t exist, contact your Area Rep.

However, on not wearing a seatbelt or mobile phone use whilst driving, take the warning and stop doing it.

I’ll try and make this clear

Yes they ARE disciplining us for harsh cornering BUT NOT telling us how it needs to be done

I am NOT looking at my performance - in fact it hasn’t even been viewable on my performance

A list is produced daily showing those who will be “spoken to” as they are high risk from previous day

And It is the union reps passing on the warnings for the company from these lists and telling us people have been sacked our position could be at risk if we don’t improve - BUT THEY HAVE NO DATA OR DRIVER RECORDS TO SHOW US - as they say they don’t have access to it

So it goes “you’re being taken off driving as you’re high risk due to harsh braking and cornering”
You ask where and to what extent
“Don’t know but it says You’re harsh braking and cornering multiple times at 5mph”
As an example, turning circles and 3 point turns are constant failures because the telemetrics reads it as accelerating steering and braking too much
Accelerating on a corner as it’s uphill gives a harsh cornering fault


You’re then given a 30 minute talk about GOAL HIT etc etc
But nothing about what you’re being marked down for

I’ve suggested that were shown what is being done wrong, how, where etc and specially educated about what is expected



And NO i dont use my phone whilst driving

And I DO wear my seat belt
