It seems more likely now that the company will bring their version in by executive action and therefore the union will be forced to ballot us on industrial action, it’s my view that we might lose the vote for all out strike so we should be telling the union to ask both questions ie

1. Are you prepared to participate in strike action

2 Are you prepared to participate in industrial action short of strike

I reckon we could do more damage on option 2 but I would still strike
What would industrial action short of a strike entail?
Work to rule, overtime ban plus anything else we can think of that will be effective

That’s not industrial action, that’s doing your job to contract. I’d be all for that. Sadly, there are those who would take the attitude that they could bag all the overtime they wanted.
You have to ballot for it or else management will call it unofficial industrial action.
That’s correct and that’s what my post states, it would be a question on the ballot paper

That’s interesting- that you have to ballot to just work your hours.

If you do regular overtime/SA and stop doing it, they will try and do you for it.

Well I hope that is one of the questions because I think there would be majority support for that tactic. Place runs on overtime.

It runs on OT because PT employees need it to pay the bills, there's no way PT staff are going to stop working OT whilst FT are still get their full play, so it's either an all out strike or no IA.
