Dream on, there's absolutely no way legacy pay rises will be frozen and the only way to take away the delivery supplement will be to compensate legacy staff for the removal with a lump sum.

Talk about shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Walsh agreed to ODM. Walsh turned up in workplaces and told workers there was no other alternative. This briefing talks like there's an army of well organised, industrially literate local reps out there. There isn't. Many local reps will never see this document. Many workers will never be told it's contents. Until the full time release mob start pulling their weight, as Martin had demanded they do, this is going nowhere.

Non drivers being first out the door must mean non drivers would be first to be offered VR because otherwise it would be compulsory redundancy
The alternative is moving them to other units but that doesn’t make a saving as no reduction in overall headcount and the other unit manager wouldn’t want a non driver if the plan is to reduce them in units rather than increase

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Removing non drivers is down right discrimination. When you applied for the job over ten years ago you weren't required to drive and yes it does help the business and yourself if you need the overtime but not compulsory.
Yes the business could move you to a different office but they would have to pay you travel expenses to get you there and back.
This is just another step on getting rid of legacy contracts and finding someone that can drive on lower slave wages.
Clearly the business does not care about its staff and it has been apparent for quite a while now.

So in our office we have dpr drivers doing the large packets. So heres an idea instead of this 3 people doing 4 walks, put half of the large packets back onto the walks, and the people on dprs can do the laspsing walks or spare ect. Yes there would be some redundacys but you wouldnt have as many people going to same place twice and none of this bullshit 3 doing 4 walks.

The ultimate plan is to get rid of, or not replace 25% of posties, they are not interested in re-jigging this and that-it won’t save them their pie in the sky 300 million.

A few years ago, a local business owner said he had paid £170 for each round of 600 houses for door to doors, plus printing and delivery to Royal Mail. So if you have 5 d2ds on one round that’s £850, which would cover your wages for a fortnight, so they’re not going anywhere. Not sure how much for the rounds with 800 plus houses

Where does this come from? Is there any way to read RM's full submission to the DRP?
I think most people can see that RM don't want a resolution, they are just going through the motions of saying we tried to resolve it.
RM's way saves hundreds of millions, in their view. CWU version saves tens of millions, maybe. That's the bottom line.

All these trials are just tinkering around the edges for what will eventually happen - USO will go and addresses will get a letter delivery every second day

Every second day is better than the proposed ODM which, on one of the two week rotas is only once every third day?cheekymonkey91 wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 18:22All these trials are just tinkering around the edges for what will eventually happen - USO will go and addresses will get a letter delivery every second day

If most non drivers do decide to take VR (why wouldn't they?) then it can't be classed as discrimination, although drivers aren't going to be happy when they see their non driving colleagues leaving with a nice pay off whilst they are left dealing with the mess ODM seems certain to create.Duesouth wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 13:53Removing non drivers is down right discrimination.
