Time to say goodbye!

Post by Judgee »

Well after over 20 years I've had enough and handed in my resignation. I have nothing to go to and no plan on what to do next but I can't take the toxic environment and management bullshit anymore!

I wish everyone one of you stuck working for those bloodsucking vampires all the best for the future and I really hope the union buck up their ideas and fix all of the problems the workforce now face! But to be honest I can't see anything saving the job now I think it's too far gone but who knows maybe the CWU will surprise all of us! :chuckle

Quitting a job without having any plans or another job to fall into seems foolish to me, but good luck.

No one should just leave without a job unless you have a load of money or retirement fund to withdraw from, we have people going off for months with stress or bad backs etc, if you hate it and are being hassled by management see doctor and claim mental health issues because they will pay you, then just go off until they pay you off as I’ve seen many people do at our office, they then have the nerve to have a go at people who have 2 separate sick days in a 6 month period and don’t pay them for second lot! Te place is toxic and hopefully redundancy will happen soon

It's not in my nature to milk the system. Never has been and never will although fair play to anyone who is happy to do that, it's just not how I was brought up!

I am lucky enough that I have resources and so have some time to ponder my next move. I am in no hurry to leap into something else. Might take some time out to study or retrain who knows! All I know is whatever I do next it will not involve getting up in the middle of the night to go to work and there will be no or very little weekend working!

For the moment at least I feel a massive sense of relief getting away from that place! Maybe one day I'll regret it but for now I really don't! :cuppa

Did you need to sign anything to resign or just hand them a letter of resignation and go?

With the changes coming in, the lack of POAL you won't regret leaving. I got out on the 26th, still like to come on here to see what changes there have been (although there will be a time I won't log on anymore) but still have mates at RM although since I left 2 long term staff have found better jobs with weekends off.

Just wrote out a quick note stating I resign with my name, payroll number and finishing date, signed at the bottom. Only a weeks notice required with my contract!

I may be off soon as well. Have been fed up with the job for ages. Only thing keeping me there is that I have a good partner. He may now be moving on, which if he does means I’ll probably go. I have a fair bit in savings, and no mortgage, so can afford to take some time off before getting another job. Have done over 30 years so it will be weird if I do go.
