In our office we can not leave to go out on deliveries until 9am :no no Just wondering if this is the case at other offices as my manager says it is a national thing. I work in Manchester

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

so many different leaving times

Post by tinydancer »

wow! so many different times in the offices! In ours the towns wait for the missort run at 8 then leave, the rurals go out when they are ready, usually 7.30 - 8. We all use the vans or cycles. (town centre has trolleys). I didn;t know there was a "national" time, but leaving between 10 and 11 really sucks. Heard the East Reading office has lost 11 postman recently and the managers have to cover the deliveries, some were not done til 11 at night!!!!! All I can say is HA HA....not as easy as you thought, eh!!
Cheers, tinydancer x

The governors let us go once the missort van has been sorted and everyone's cleared in. That can be anytime between 8.30-9.30, depending on what time the missort van arrives, how much is on it and how many people go on the sorting, though it's usually around 9.00.
