How to pay extra in pension?

Post by hkccm »

Hiya,

I found the following website, it said I can enable paying extra in People App > Pension. But I couldn't find the tile "Pension" in "My Services". Where did it go?

Read the messages at the top of the people app, it explains why it's missing. :thumbup

Payroll has closed early, when it “unlocks” again it will reappear.

Indeed I opted into the lump sum booster and paying £60 a week nto an AVC with growth investment choice, it's a no brainer invest in your stable financial future.

Did anyone succeed in joining the new scheme and NEST scheme ? Couldn’t get a straight answer from anyone. Read all the t’s and c’s, nothing to say I could or couldn’t.

Ha ha!
The reason you couldn't get a straight answer is probably because they were too busy laughing! :left:

Why laugh ? Whats the problem ? Surely it's the same as paying AVC but with extra contribution from RM.

Because I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't 1st April.

It's choice between the two, or else you opt out of RM pensions altogether!

In an ideal world, RM probably don't want to pay in as much as they already are into pensions.
So if everyone in the RMCPP signed up for Nest as well, at 4% of pensionable pay that would potentially cost the company another £80-100 million per year.

Can you expand on this, i.e. payroll closing?

Yes but there's nothing to say I can't join both schemes and nobody knows for sure.

I would say everyone except you knows for sure. :cuppa

Why don't you try and join the one you're not already a member of and see what happens.

Just asking a question, which you obviously can't answer.
