Pension supplement for C members
Whilst looking at my age 65 CSDB pension supplement from the September 25 illustration i noticed it us only £451 a year. I'm sure this was quite a bit bigger in previous illustrations. Is it because the scheme closed or is there a larger amount from the separate age 60 pension I failed to notice. I realise all payments are only relevant if I leave Royal Mail early and up to state retirement . I've done 38 years age 63 it doesn't seem a lot. Thanks for any info

Re: Pension supplement for C members
You will only have 8 years worth of Age65 pension and supplement(2010-2018), which is made up of 2 years(2010-2012) with the RMSPS and 6 years(2012-2018) with the RMPP. Plus the DBCBS, also with the RMPP(2018-2024).
The remainder of your benefits will have been accrued before 2010 and the majority of those will be via the RMSPS.

I have looked at mine and my pension supplement is only £166.21
Comparing 2024 with 2025 the only figure that increased was the pension increase amount.

What does the RMPP version say?

Re: Pension supplement for C members
For anyone interested, the supplement built up for section C members at the rate of 1/60th of the Lower Earnings Deduction for each year you were employed, up to the RMPP closing to future pension accrual in 2018.
The LED used to increase each year but was frozen at £3,328 around 1999/2000 I think. So the amount of supplement you accrued didn't increase from then on. Although your pension would have increased by more as a result of that freezing.
It also meant contributions into Bonusplan were then limited to £2.88 per week, as they were calculated as 4.5% of the LED.

Correct , that was my RMSPS statement.RobertT wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026, 10:35That sounds like your RMSPS statement.tractorboy2 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026, 09:23I have looked at mine and my pension supplement is only £166.21

My RMPP statement has the pension supplement at £418.58
Again the only change is the pension increase amount which was 1.7% of the combined pension and supplement.
Whereas the RMSPS one was different as it increased by more than 1.7%.(Maybe it includes the increase of the Age60 pension?)

Without knowing any details it's hard to give a reason. But as you're getting more than you think you should be, then consider yourself lucky.
