Trimble
Hi everybody.
My big van with no Trimble went to work shop. They gave me a different big van with a Trimble. Everybody said to me be extra careful l when drive it lol.
I was very careful. I drive at sensible speed. Then I must have drove round a corner to quickly and set it off. It went to Red. It stayed on red for few hours (I think 2 or 3 hours it was on red) when I drove back to office. It went to orange for 10-20 mins. Then back to normal green.
Here’s what I am worried about.
Will I get in trouble/pulled up if the Trimble went to red ?
What does it mean when the Trimble light goes to red for few hours ???

Re: Trimble
Assuming you continued to drive the van for a few hours after it went to red them, rather than leave it parked up, them you must have continued to drive it in an harsh manner?
You'll most likely get a low score on your PDA app i.e. sub 90 and, at worse, most likely just get a ticking off from your manager about the Trimble score.

Re: Trimble
Did you park up for a while?? They stay on red till driving gets 'better'. I've had mine red on Monday, when somebody else has used it on Saturday in the past.
They're total bollocks just ignore it. Mine used to always beep at a horrendous roundabout in Oldham. I had one for years and cornering was the only one that ever got me, but nobody ever said anything.

Re: Trimble
I wouldn’t worry about it. Were there any blue flashing lights or sirens? Did a speed camera flash you? Those are what REALLY matter.
If any manager is wally enough to mention it just suggest that it is faulty because it stayed on red the whole time even when parked.

Re: Trimble
Thanks for the reply’s !!!!!
Once it hit red. I parked up. Then I went do a loop walking. Which I usually do in van. I thought it would go back to normal when I return to van. But it was still on red.
No harsh driving lol. I always drive at a safe speed.
The van always beeps at me when going round corners/roundabouts lol. Even driving at safe slow speeds.
Another few questions.
Does red Trimble light flag up on the mangers computer or does the mangers have manually check it ?
Can the managers take you off driving if your Trimble light goes red ???

Re: Trimble
If managers took every driver off driving whose Trimble went red, there'd be hardly any drivers available!Sarah99 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026, 07:03Thanks for the reply’s !!!!!

Re: Trimble
If it goes on orange or red, just do the next maneuver ( going round a corner, accelerating etc) really, really slowly and it'll be happy and flick back to green

If it's beeping you're clearly going to quickly, that's why it's beeping!Sarah99 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026, 07:03Thanks for the reply’s !!!!!

The following day after you driver a van with a Trimble fitted the score should show on your PDA, anything below 96% flags up your own manager's reports. Some manager's turn a blind eye others take it seriously.

Re: Trimble
If it went straight to red its either faulty or you shouldn't be on the road
When I cover a rural I have to launch from side roads onto a busy main road...after a couple of hours it'll turn orange.
If you went from green to red in 1 corner then I salute you!

Re: Trimble
Continually? About 10s, oh look I was idling for 16% yesterday, no big deal whether I look at it or not. I like to check the scores on the doors though to find out whose given me a score and if it's s**t I badger the manager to find out why. Why - because I want to know and it's his job and so I can refute the charge m'lud. I also check it to confirm the times I scanned in/out the day previous as SISO is screwing our overtime up.
You could say the same thing about people coming on here - why?

Re: Trimble
Because it isn't a surprise when you get called in by the COM to explain why your score is continually below 90% when the rest of the office is above 95%?
It's hardly taken that much effort to check your scores anyway.

Re: Trimble
There is no way any com in our office would dare embarrass themselves by trying to drag someone for My Performance/Doorstep scores.
I never ever look at it. Don’t even click the tab.

Re: Trimble
What they never speak to a driver who regularly has a Trimble score below 90% and is also regularly speeding? All My Performance/Doorstep does is reflect the Trimble information our managers have always been able to see.Barnacle wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026, 19:08There is no way any com in our office would dare embarrass themselves by trying to drag someone for My Performance/Doorstep scores.
