Ideas / comments welcome...
An individual in my office who is the rest day cover for my walk and walks that are adjacent to mine is regularly late by thirty minutes plus nearly everyday. Whilst his time keeping is no concern of mine it does have an impact on me and others when he is on an adjacent walk and we pick up a bundle of missorts in the final. Should I just ignore this inconvenience and continue to accomodate his missorts into my walk as I deliver or does anyone have any ideas as to how I may combat this problem. As I said he is my rest day cover and I have always been aware of any actions that I might take that would impact on him and each Christmas I have given him one sixth of my tips which I am told is almost unheard of in our delivery office.

Later...
Plenty of people notice and some make remarks, however his late arrival only impacts on the individuals that happen to be on a walk next to one he is covering. Some people have suggested that management do nothing about his time keeping because he always agrees to do overtime for them.

Sound advice - also ask the manager if he is deducting the 30 mins from any overtime this guy does also inform him that you will be starting the same time as him so that the missorts are aligned as you wouldn't want to be wrongly accused of delaying mail - of course because he doesn't come in on time HE could be accused of wilfully delaying mail. I have always thought it best to be open about these things and say to the lazy arsed bastard he'd better be on time or....................................... he isn't always on RM time. Remember though they cannot treat you any differently than they treat him, so if his lateness is ignored and then they try to discipline you I would produce a record of his attendance times.glenfiddich wrote:hold any missorts for him and give him them when he gives you yours

Yes he might - but still manages to do the docket eh - I'm sure if we all put our mind to it we could come up with some excuse for our shortcomings. Sad thing is some play it for all it's worth.seeker019 wrote:Hold on a moment![]()
Just mention this to the office manager, as he just might be experiencing personel problems at home or waiting on a lift to work.
Either way the manager might know about the problem (but it's not our business)

30 mins a day, it is other folk's business if it is affecting their work.
If the manager knows about it, the least they could do is let those affected to cut some slack.
