The CDC AVC's funds have been pretty solid by the looks of it - we have only been in them a few months.

Yeah, I've seen a few of his posts and he really is relentless with all the anti CWU stuff.scotchy1962 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025, 14:52Good god RobertT don't be going against trams, he only spreads the truth on here and never ever makes things up!!
Now that's the sarcasm out of the way, well done RobertT let's see if he attacks you as a CWU lackie or something similar because you destroyed his accusations.
Hard to argue with the truth.
I'm surprised he hasn't blamed Covid and the Ukraine war on Ward and Walsh aswell.
Or maybe he has?
As for the RMCPP, a drop in value so early on doesn't look good. But pensions are long term investments lasting decades, so it's only the ill informed that are making a meal of it now.
April 2026 will be the first time your benefits will go up, down or stay the same, as a result of the funds' performance. So it'll be interesting to see what's announced.

You’ve literally been called out by numerous posters on here for telling lies and you’ve gone to ground, time to call it a day don’t you think ?tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025, 08:58The only guaranteed part of the CDC is workers contributions. The CWU peddled this scheme as a way to get workers a defined benefit. As usual with Ward and the useless CWU executive they've accepted the crumbs. Commentators on here will argue it's early days. Workers face the real prospect of getting nothing back from the original DC scheme and now getting nothing back from the CDC. Let's be clear the only collective part of the CDC is the workers contribution. And never forget that Ward and Walsh are getting a defined benefit, final salary, pension paid for by workers. The likes of Ward care so little about unionism that they've bankrupt the CWU by refusing to put the officers on a DC scheme like the rest of us.

What's the problem with investing in cheap reliable energy?nutcracker wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025, 02:33Dont forget that the Daniel Křetínský managed to buy Royal Mail off the back of owning loads of coal mines, coal power plants etc
I've got a decent amount invested in South African coal producer Thungela.
I'm up over 12% in 4 months plus dividends, perhaps I ought to have put my money in renewables and lost money.

Like the lies allied steel and wire pensioners were told? Like the lies Maxwell told? It is not a lie to question if a government will really honour its commitment to pay out the money it subsumed into the national purse. I've not lied here. A good test for the perceived viability of these CDC pensions would be for the Government to propose implementing them for the behemoth that is the Civil Service, you know those that staff the HMRC 'help' lines, DVLA, HMPO, Probate Office etc.The results come as the government wants to encourage wider take-up of such schemes, which offer a halfway house between traditional defined-benefit pension plans that offer predictable payouts, and defined-contribution plans, where income is based on contributions and investment performance.

The Civil Service and HMRC Pensions are unfunded, I doubt they will be using a crappy CDC Pension anytime soon.yellowbelly wrote: ↑26 Dec 2025, 16:46A good test for the perceived viability of these CDC pensions would be for the Government to propose implementing them for the behemoth that is the Civil Service, you know those that staff the HMRC 'help' lines, DVLA, HMPO, Probate Office etc.The results come as the government wants to encourage wider take-up of such schemes, which offer a halfway house between traditional defined-benefit pension plans that offer predictable payouts, and defined-contribution plans, where income is based on contributions and investment performance.
The Civil Service are in charge of Two Tier Keir and his Goons.
