Awful images show how Evri packages appear to have been left on the floor by cars just days before Christmas.
There have been reports to the Swindon Advertiser that parcels were thrown on the floor in the car park of the Evri hub in Dorcan.
A spokesperson for Evri has since confirmed the area is where couriers sort their parcels ready for delivery.
They also told the Adver that a parking attendant had been installed at the Dorcan site during the peak period to help ensure smooth operations.
However, there has been claims the situation is worse than it seems.
"These people are just scanning everything outside in all weathers and just lobbing them on the floor, it's awful," a source claimed.
"Poor conditions to work in and really badly handled parcels before they are delivered."
Our reporter visited the site, and saw a number of packages strewn on the floor next to a vehicle outside.
The source also claimed that cars were being filled with so many packages that drivers would be unable to see out the windows.
They told us that a huge number of cars had been trying to get into the site, and the ones that could not get in were blocking the road and the pavements.
The Adver did not see any evidence of this.
Earlier this month, the Adver reported that Swindon residents were having serious issues with the delivery service provided by both Evri and Royal Mail.
Packages were delayed across Swindon and Wiltshire, with residents complaining in the run-up to Christmas that they have not received anything for weeks.
The Evri spokesperson said: "This is the busiest time of year for parcel deliveries, with demand at record levels as volumes double, and our dedicated delivery units have clear procedures in place to support this.
“We are committed to handling every parcel with care, and the vast majority of our sites follow a robust ‘cage to cage to car’ process for loading which couriers are encouraged to follow wherever achievable.
“Additionally, traffic flow is carefully managed to ensure minimal disruption in the area, and a parking attendant has been implemented at our Dorcan unit during the peak period to support operations, including monitoring loading times and ensuring couriers drive safely when accessing the site.”
