Numerous Correx Yorks without a "gated" front pass through our RDC, but are used for manual items (as sleeveless), although the Yorks are strictly "Damaged".

1.14 York Repair Reference:
• York Container Repair Process
All damaged Yorks must be taken out of service.

I would say 50% of the Yorks used in our RDC operation have the "gate" front missing. So essentially damaged Yorks are being continually used.

You can't change the correxes now, I've been mentally conditioned by the constant electric shocks. I'll miss the abuse!
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

Another agreement not worth the paper it’s written on. I spend nearly 7 hours a night sorting out of plastic sleeves only time away from them is the meal break. We are required to sort an average of 320-340 items per hour otherwise we a taken into the office and questioned about our performance levels and threatened with the conduct code. Apparently this has been agreed by the union we are told. The snow shovels are an ongoing joke but they do become useful when picking up small items at the bottom of the sleeves. Unless they find a better system keep them. I await to see if changes are made but won’t hold my breath

Typical CWU. Too little, too late. They always turn up to the disco just as the house lights come up. Useless.

The CWU requested their removal from operation over 2 years ago but that doesn’t suit your narrative does it.

The older yorks (with the yellow handle at the top) can't be used properly for any trays of mech, manual or flats. The trays can't be safely loaded if the door is on the york. A correx missing the door is no different from a non-correx york.

On the conveyor belts the person tipping is normally stuck on there for the whole shift. With a bit more careful thought, RM could have had automated tipping machines where you press a button and it tips some of the contents onto the conveyor, repeated each time there's space on the conveyor.

During Xmas Pressure, we just use whatever is available, often one section will nick yorks from other sections. There must be a york shortage already as the Amazon has gone back to arriving on pallets again.

The fact being that a correx sleeved york sleeve with the gated door missing is a damaged york.

1.14 York Repair Reference: • York Container Repair Process • All damaged Yorks must be taken out of service.

In my opinion if the damaged (doorless) yorks are not taken out of service to be repaired, then eventually their will not be enough "Gated"
yorks for use in the segs for sorting Mech items.

The way they build up, I don't think earlies and lates have got the staff to spare to repair them. Without using the ones without the doors, we'd soon run out of yorks for the large. If we didn't use any ones with missing doors, missing velcro, etc we'd have no yorks to use.

This issue is yet more spin and deceit from the CWU>

Why would the HSE visit a Royal Mail workplace?

They only get involved with a work death and only do unannounced inspections on essential operations such as the nuclear/Airline industry.

The majority of inspections are now carried out by the Local Authority on behalf of the HSE.

A few points here,
1. There are too many short postal workers pushing yorks they can't see over the top of.
2. The yorks need lids on the top to stop rain from damaging the barcodes we scan !! Like the red alps had.
3. 1minute break between every york emptied.. that is a joke surely, if you empty say 20 yorks on IPS you spend 20 minutes just stretching!? 😆

Someone come up with a solution now please.

Or birds defecating on them. If loaded yorks are going to be stored outside whilst in transit then that should be a requisite. The s**t service was not meant to be interpreted literally.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?
