Accident in van

Post by hero22 »

An elderly woman reversed across a car park straight into the front of my van at a right speed. I had been standing at the side door getting the next parcels out after completing a collection. The side of the van bounced back hitting me
On the shoulder. After sorting out the details etc i went about my duty after changing vans.

My issue is , after a couple of days i have started to
Get a alot of pain in shoulder and neck. I had no intention of taking it further but a few colleagues said it would be worth speaking to a solicitor anyway.

I was just wondering do I contact a solicitor of my own choosing or does the royal mail or union help in such a situation? I noted the pain with management, haven’t felt the need to go sick yet but was worried that longer term i
May have hurt myself more than i thought

If you are in the Union, then try this first (copy and pasted)

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) provides legal advice to its members through UnionLine.

The phone number for the CWU members' legal advice line (UnionLine) is:

📞 0300 333 0303
This helpline is typically open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and can offer advice on a broad range of legal issues, including:

General Legal Advice (e.g., benefits, consumer disputes, property issues, wills)

Employment Law

Personal Injury Claims (for members and their families)

You will usually need your CWU membership number when you call.

However, just a general thing, if you are going to claim for an injury, you may need medical evidence, so I would suggest making an appointment with your GP, and perhaps getting someone to take a picture of the injury if there are visible marks.

You just can't help yourself, can you? You've been warned previously about personal attacks and/or inappropriate language. Mocking someone's forum name counts as that. Please try to control your impulse to belittle others just because they do something differently from you. By the way, feigning illness is a sackable offence, so even your advice could be dangerous if people decided to follow it.

They came here for advice, not derision. If you can't offer advice in such a situation, then don't post anything.

I’d suggest speaking to a medical professional first which makes this whole post sound off to me
