It’s like they are saying to the workforce ‘ we will do what we want and no one can stop us’. And putting a value on it is pointless, they print the stamps, we deliver the mail so it’s a bit different to selling a stamp over the counter, no one outside of Royal Mail touches the post

Re: Stamps
I think complaining about things like this dilutes the validity of complaints about genuinely complaint worthy matters.
"They're moaning about stamps"
"They'll moan about anything, so what's new?"

Our company policy is now to use our second class service when sending anything internally. You will also see that this year we are gifting you with second class stamps in order to support our proposed changes to the Universal Service and ensure that we are protecting the operation at our busiest time of year.

They can't be fined in December - it's the exemption period. Consequently, watch how quickly prioritising 1C will be dropped and left to burst out of slots until January 2nd/3rd in favour of shifting more T48.
The machine stops.

what's the betting RM has upgraded the biscuits to slabs of carrot cake and brownies? Probably dozing off in the meetings - the only intensity will be with the insulin spikestoonshola wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025, 10:49It’s a subtle hint what the company’s hierarchy and ultimately the new foreign billionaire owner think of us all. Second class humans to be stomped on and exploited to further Mr Kretinskys already gigantic wealth.
I’m sure it will be fine though, Ward and Walsh are continuing “intense” talks with tea and biscuits so just don’t worry about it. Royal Mail and EP group love us really.

I’ve heard they’re changing the wellbeing programme to
“Feeling second class” in the new year.
Don’t quote me on it though…..

Re: Stamps
I don't really understand why RM want to p... off all their staff, both legacy and new contract holders, as it seems a strange move when it relies totally on staff delivering letters and parcels.
We keep hearing from the CWU that EPG are different than the old RM board but surely DK must have signed off such a major move?

Re: Stamps
They discussed it on tonight's update? It they were in cahoots them surely they'd just say they didn't see an issue with us getting 2c stamps, particularly as RM had sent them out early?postmanplod2025 wrote: ↑06 Nov 2025, 19:43theres ur so called union for keeping us in the loop, didnt even have the DECENCY! to tell us we where getting second class stamps! all in cahoots with royal mail management! to think members pay this mob!

Re: Stamps
does this mean that you'll only get the stamps Monday to Friday?
that's if you clear your backlog.....
I'm sorry but that's gotta be a kick in the teeth for Morale- even as bad a trying to bribe managers during The last strikes with High Street Gift cards- what are you now- Dead Beat dads and Mums of RM?....
I feel genuinely disheartened for my fellow former co-workers.....

Re: Stamps
2019:
1st Class: £0.70
2nd Class: £0.61
15% difference in price
2025:
1st Class = £1.70
2nd Class = £0.87
95% difference in price.
With that difference in price you might as well just buy 2nd class stamps and that's what they want to force the public to do. They don't want to deliver 1st class letters so I understand why they are giving us 2nd class stamps. One thing I don't understand is why give us stamps at all. I'd prefer a bit of extra cash. Giving us free stamps just means there's going to be up to 4.5million more letters for us to deliver and Royal Mail sees no benefit from it.
These stamps end up getting given away or sold and that money doesn't go to Royal Mail and we have more flipping work to do. It is mind-blowing they even do it.

Are you prepared to see just how much lower the company's generosity can descend?

Re: Stamps
the only thing we achieved by striking was saving the area reps , everything else was pushed through against the posties we lost lot of terms and conditions, only the area reps won as they kept their positions no wonder the union wanted us to strike for them, so they were happy
